Auto Doc Tire Pros

My mother took her care to this shop. To get it looked at for a noise. Without my knowledge of course as I grew up with three gentlemen who are now ase certified,one of which own their own business. They gave her an absolutely ridiculous list of work that “needed to be fixed and or flushed”. Had her car looked at by an ase cert mechanic. Only two of the many items on the invoice were actually of concern. And the prices made no sense whatsoever. Bad way to do business, don’t try to get over on older women as one of them might just know the right people.

So, my Dad went in to Auto Doc because his 94 Camry had a really bad shake on the front driver side. I told him to check his tire, wheel bearing, or any other suspension components. He decided to take it into Auto Doc and just pay them $50 to diagnose. He told me later that they were going to replace the front axles, sway bar, driver side tire and do an alignment. $1750 was the total. It's a 94' Camry with 200k miles... You do the math. He had said to them he just needed to do the minimal and that's what they said was the minimal. I called them and they confirmed, so I said to not do the work cuz he can't afford that living on SS and was planning to put it on a credit card. I figured I'd take a look and see what was up and if that was the case then we could decide the next thing to do. He paid the $50 and picked up the car. He drove it back to my house and it turns out that the sway bar end linkage had disconnected and his left front tire had been eaten through to the metal wires. I remembered the guy had mentioned a missing nut. Obviously that was why his car was shaking. So, I bought the end linkages for $17 for a two pack, replaced both which took about 30 mins, and we got a new tire for $50 +installation from Discount Tire. His alignment is off and his tires are toed out which is why his tread was eaten through on the outside, but it was mainly due to not having that $8 linkage. His cv axles were fine, however the boots are torn, but we don't live in the rust belt and I've driven cars for years with torn boots. His car doesn't justify replacing axles anyways. His sway bar was fine, along with the bushings (I'm assuming they meant they were going to replace the sway bar end linkages, not the sway bar itself, but that's not what they said). So what was the point of the $50 diagnostic fee anyways? Anyways, if they had looked at an old man asking for the minimal, had told him he really just needed the linkages and a new tire for $350, with an optional alignment afterwards for a little more, then they would have made money and I would've never injected myself. But $1750 for an easy fix and $100 in parts is why I'm writing this review. You can judge for yourself.

I took my car in to get looked at it was making a noise when I turned. My tire light was on as well and my check engine light was on. They were fast with giving it a look but very rude on the phone. When arriving they were much nicer and way more respectful. But they charged me close to $100 to inform me that my entire front end needed to be replaced. Couldn't tell me what the noise was but I needed to pay over $3,000 to replace my entire front end. That i needed different size tires on the car and that there was a sensor out. My only issue is that I just had 4 or 5 things done to the cars front end. I don't believe they really looked at anything and if they did really look they didn't really go into great detail. They got $100 from me, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I'm completely disappointed in the Auto Doc, only reason I gave them 2 stars was because the guy at the front desk was very polite.

They were able to work on my car immediately, and since my car was shaking so bad, it took a huge weight off my shoulders! The car drives perfect now! They were patient with answering all my questions and very respectful. I recommend them highly and will always take my car there.
