I have been to them with my 3 cars for 4yrs.. Great guys that truly are concerned about your vehicle. They are silly, funny and have you feeling comfortable in the office. Also they are not slow. You do not wait a long time. They will have you leave with a smile on your face with their warm heart 💙

I came in for what I thought would be a simple oil change, and I left beyond impressed. Juan and his team took the time to thoroughly check my car and discovered an issue I had no idea about. Instead of just doing the oil change and sending me on my way, they were honest, upfront, and incredibly efficient about everything. What really stood out was their integrity. As someone who isn’t very knowledgeable about vehicles, car issues can feel overwhelming and stressful. Juan not only explained the situation clearly but also recommended a trustworthy mechanic to help with the repair. That alone gave me so much peace of mind. To make it even better, I had previously gone to another shop that tried to charge me FIVE times what Lonestar Lube would have. The difference in honesty and fairness was night and day. If you’re looking for a place that genuinely cares, operates with integrity, and treats customers with respect, this is it. 10/10 — highly recommend!

I've been going to Lone Star for about a decade now, and with very rare exception, I've always been tremendously pleased. When issues did pop-up (an oil overfill, in one instance, that was pushing oil past one of my vehicle's turbo seals as it was covering the oil return drain into the pan), they were very apologetic, customer-service-focused, and quickly made things right. This brings me to now. I just came in and had a labor-only oil change, something I've done many times before. I've been working on cars myself (maintenance and much more) for over 30 years. I'm more than capable of doing this myself, but both I and my Wife are busy professionals (we both own small businesses), and time really is money. Accordingly, I've always felt good about saving myself time and supporting Lone Star. This most recent time I came in, I was charged more than expected. I asked about this, and double-checked to ensure that I was receiving my military discount. I was, but it was still more than expected (edit: upon review of my records, I was NOT given the military discount. I was charged $39.99 instead of $35.99, Going back even further in my records, there was I time I was charged $29.99 even without any discount, though I understand prices must rise over time). I pointed out the price discrepancy to the gentleman, and he insisted I was incorrect on the price. I asked him to look up one of my other vehicles, which he did, and it showed that I was indeed correct--the other price was $4 less. I'm not really worried about the $4, that's not the point. It was what came next. The gentleman printed out the report from the other vehicle to make sure he told all of the workers about the "error," and to ensure that the higher price was charged in all future scenarios. He made mention that there was some particular nuance as to why I had a greater discount before, but it didn't apply because I used my own oil and filter, and that he was going to make sure the error didn't happen again (edit: this confuses me--the discount has nothing to do with providing my own oil and filter, but with being a veteran, right? Maybe customer-provided items preclude the discount? Then why was it previously applied?). Whatever the case, it was clear that business need, business costs, and "being right" / strictly adhering to policy was far and away the most important thing to him, and that's exactly how it came across to me. As a business owner myself, I appreciate the essential nature of having a soft touch, being diplomatic, and even apologetic, when a policy really needs to be the priority. Without customers, a business will fail. And the ones who have come for over 10 years are very valuable, indeed. To put it short and sweet: it's not what you say, it's how you say it. I hope the gentleman gets a little assistance in learning that this is far and away the more important thing in these sorts of scenarios, and changes how he addresses similar future situations accordingly. This is basic customer-service type stuff. Edit: after seeing the owner's reponse to my concerns, I was very encouraged by it. Due to this and long-standing experience of being a satisfied customer, I've updated my review to 5-star. Thank you very much, Ryan. It means a lot. I also went back and corrected factual errors in my original review to be 100% transparent and accurate.
