AR Hindrichs LLC Performance & maintenance

I needed a new clutch installed on my Miata and found AR Hindrichs on Google. I gave them a call and they quickly quoted me a Stage 1 Exedy organic clutch. The price was very reasonable, so I moved forward. They were an absolute breeze to work with. Armand and the whole crew are solid. Truly salt-of-the-earth people who radiate good energy. I will definitely be supporting them for my future NC Miata needs.

Just a comment on extremely positive but limited experience w/ AR Heindrichs. I brought my 2004 Honda S2000 to them bc they post on the S2k FB group and seemed very competent and experienced with performance vehicles + mods. Wasn't disappointed. Problem was electric ps stopped working after battery died. Strongly suspected root cause was the steering torque sensor lost calibration (could no longer tell what straight ahead was) when power died. I tried to re-calibrate myself but had no luck. Took it to ARH (driving 75 mi without power steering is def an upper body work out - even on the tiny S2k) and the owner put it on a rack with scanner connected. As usual, as soon as its in the mechanics hands to e intermittent problem disappears. He gave me the car back with NO CHARGE and full explanation of what he thought happened I can endorse AHR for both honesty/integrity and competence. Plan to take the S2k back to him for a refresh and modest upgrades. Replace the wear items - fluids, brakes, bushings/engine mounts transmission shifter rebuild...and a couple others If you have an S2k or Miata/MX5 - esp if you tune it for higher performance - AR Heindrichs is - as far as I know - the BEST option in Metro Houston!

I have been taking my NC Miata to Armand ever since I bought it in 2018. This guy knows Miatas! (Although I have taken other makes to him with excellent results too) He has always treated me fairly and offered plenty of suggestions to help me build the car out as a dual duty track rat / daily driver on a tight budget. Even though I have moved over 500 miles away, his shop is still my first choice for auto repairs. When the original engine finally gives up the ghost (over 180,000 miles of abuse and still going strong), I already have plans in place to have it hauled to him for the 2.5l swap with a few upgrades. For years I have said a great mechanic is worth their weight in gold. Armand is sets a PLATINUM standard. I will always recommend this shop to anyone who will listen. And be sure to ask him about his cats. :) More recently he has started putting that mechanical engineering degree to good use and has been developing various go-fast goodies for sale. The guy really wants to see the Miata community thrive and grow. It has been fun watching him develop his "Blueberry" and "Crunchberry" test mules on Instagram and YouTube, be sure to check those out if you want a behind the scenes look. Major services completed (so far): Radiator replacement, Coilover and ARB installs, Clutch / transmission replacement, Header install (with tune), catalytic converter replacement, Brakes upgrade, LED headlights, Radio install, EVAP repair, prepurchase inspections, accessability fabrication work (VW tall hatchback, short owner), hours and hours of consults on vehicle setup / race prep

I'd give 10-stars if I could. Armand installed a Flyin Miata turbo kit on my NC. I also discussed several other upgrades at the same time considering the turbo and he walked me through everything he recommended. I ended up with a transformed car with upgrades to the clutch, cooling (using his in-house developed kit), differential, rotarytronics gauge, coilovers and battery relocation. Armand and Jordan we're very responsive throughout the process and Armand helped tremendously with support after the sale. Very highly recommended for not just Miata's but whatever you have in the garage.

I just got my NC2 back with a fresh 2.5 swap and boy does she feel good! Armand and the crew were amazing to deal with throughout the whole process. Excellent, professional, communicative, and precise down to the fine details. As a business owner, I appreciate these qualities as they're becoming a rarity these days. I highly recommend them for any auto work you need and if you're considering a 2.5 swap from them, do it!!
