I can’t recommend this shop enough! The staff is so friendly and works really hard to make sure you and your vehicle are taken care of. You treat them with respect and they give it right back! They are great at what they do, and their pricing is honestly unbeatable. To have a shop that delivers incredible quality & incredible prices is such a rare gem. They work so quick, too! Even when they’re busy, they hustle to make sure everything is done in a timely and efficient manner. We’ve been going here for about 3, maybe 4 years. It’s the only shop we will ever go to and we recommend them to anyone who will listen. They can do almost any service and they get it done right. Had my truck vacuumed for the a/c like 3 times there & it never did once blow the air out colder them what it already was!!!! Then got the exhaust done on my other one & they cut/broke my reverse camera cables!!

I had recently purchased a used 2008 Toyota Tundra Crewmax w/ the factory Supercharged 5.7 v8 motor. This truck had been well taken care of and almost showroom condition inside and out and ran perfect. I took it to Galvez because the exhaust was a little louder than I liked. Upon putting my truck on the lift, we had noticed that I had no mufflers or catalytic converters and also had an exhaust leak. He suggested putting 3 chamber flow master mufflers and he would fix the exhaust leak and put black exhaust pipe tips for the cost of $700 cash and I agreed and the work was done. Upon leaving the shop I was pleased with the new sound of my truck and proceeded on my way home off of NASA Rd 1. As I was approaching my exit from hwy 146 I wanted to really hear how my exhaust sounded when I getting on it. So I mashed the accelerator and when I reached about 90 mph all of a sudden my truck started running really really bad. I immediately call the shop and told them what was happening when the young lady on the phone told me that all they did was put mufflers on it. I agreed that that was all the work that was performed, however my truck was really running bad. She advised me to bring it back so they could look at it. That's when I told her that I don't think It'll make it back. She then told me "Well if you don't bring it back, that they wouldn't be able to fix it" I proceeded back to the shop and my truck started running worse and then it started smoking terribly and finally died. I pulled off to the side of 146 and called the shop. Again the young lady rudely advised me that they didn't do anything but put mufflers on my truck and then hung up. I tried calling back several times to address the issue and they wouldn't even take my call. I took my truck to Toyo-Lex in Seabrook where it was determined that my motor had blown and had seized up. I had rented a car a couple weeks afterwards and drove to the shop where I spoke with Mr Galvez and advised him of what happened to my truck. He then asked me how fast was I driving when thus happened and I told him around 90mph and he replied OH MAN!!! WHY WERE YOU GOING SO FAST??? As to imply that my high rate of speed was the cause to my motor blowing up. I then pleaded with Mr Galvez to please help me and that he seemed like a nice man and I'm sure he was running a respectable business and that this was a most unfortunate event and I didn't like the situation any more than he did as I had just just bought the truck a couple of weeks ago and that I had done nothing wrong and unfortunately it was indeed their negligence that caused the failure of my engine.That's when he offered that he might be willing to purchase the truck from me for somewhere between $8000-$10,000. It didn't seem to unfair of an offer at first but after i I had thought about it for a couple minutes, I had just paid $16000 for the truck a few weeks ago and that the only reason it was now only worth $8000-$10,000 was due to the oversight, and negligence of him and his mechanics that performed the work on my vehicle. If we can't come to some agreeable terms to rectify the issue I'll have no choice but to sue him in small claims court as I've gotten estimates from 3 different Toyota dealerships service departments and they're all just under $20,000 for a new supercharged 5.7V8. Need less to say that I won't be back to Galvez Muffler and mechanic shop in Baytown for any repairs in the future unless we can agree on an acceptable solution to this most unfortunate situation.
