Summit Tire & Auto Service

I’m a repeat customer. They’ve always done me right. Today was above and beyond. I went in for trouble with bought elsewhere and they found a major suspension problem caused by another shop. We got the other shop to fix the problem and then I went right back to Summit to complete the job. They always treat me like a friend and take great care of my family too. I’ve never had a problem or bad experience. Their prices are fair and competitive. I highly recommend this shop.

STAY AWAY!!!!!! I brought my jeep here when roads were full of ice. It was 1 of 2 places that picked up the phone. That is 1 of the stars. I drove to store and gas station the previous Monday jeep was fine. I tried to go to work Tuesday and it wouldn't go into gear. I called summit tire and and agreed to have jeep towed there. I was talking with Darren or Darrell. After jeep was there he called me and said that my battery was low and it may be causing a glitch with electrical issues with transmission. I agreed to replace battery thinking it made sense with jeep working fine the day before. He called me 20 minutes later and said my transmission was shot. Told me he could get a new one in and also replace oil pan gasket along with oil change. He told me it would be over 6000.00. I told him I needed to think about it. I then called Bartlett transmissions and they said they could rebuild mine for about 3500. I call Darren back and told him what I found out. He then tried to find some discounts and got transmission down to 4200. I figured it was a good deal. 700 more for new transmission. Total would be 5497,I was told it would take max 2 days. On the 2nd day I was told I would get a call about 1pm the next day. At 130 I called to check on progress. Jerry told me he only calls when job is done. I guess leaving customer in limbo is OK with him. When I came to pick up vehicle at around 3 problems started. When Jerry tried to charge me bill was over 6000. I let him know that I would not be paying anymore than price quoted. He wasn't happy but I only paid 5497. I left and noticed jeep made a weird vibration sometimes. It was late Friday so I didn't call until Sat morning.Jeep did move that's why I gave 2nd star. I asked Jerry when would be good to bring jeep back in to see what noise was. He told me Monday would be good. I told him I would be there Monday morning and he said OK. I got there Monday morning and no Jerry and they didn't have time to look at jeep. So I rescheduled for Friday with Matt. Took it in Friday Jerry was there he didn't seem too happy to see me. I let him listen to noise that I recorded explained when it did it. He took keys and had mechanic drive jeep to hear noise. He came back 5 minutes later and said he didn't hear it. I got in vehicle to drive and let mechanic hear noise. Before we left parking lot vibration happens. He said it was probably heat Sheila for transmission. I part that had to be move to rebuild my transmission. Yes that's right not a new transmission. They took it back into shop lifted up on a rack revved engine to extreme. I never said it happened at high speeds. Jerry came back and said it was my transfer gear he couldn't tell me how long it will last. I let him know they would not do service on my vehicle, he then got snappy handed me my keys and graciously told me there would not be a charge for looking at what should have been warranty. I took my jeep to another mechanic and was told it is a loose heat shield did not need transfer case. When I talked with Darren about why I didn't get a new transmission he told me he never said that. Doesn't surprise me this shop is why people don't trust mechanics. No morals all about the money any way too take advantage of it's customers. STAY AWAY!!!!

Thanks Matt for being very very polite and kind over the phone you should be the manger Jerry you should maybe take some lesson from Matt. Your Customer service skills are awful. Remember, you don’t have to touch cars cause you’re the manager. I advise you to check behind your boys work.

Awful place. Manager is unprofessional, shady, has an attitude, always trying to upsell, and will add any and everything to your estimates tbst you didnt ask for (ex oil changes) etc. DO NOT come here.

Terrible terrible if this was the last place on earth to get pay tires or auto repairs I’d walk for the rest of my life I will say this til I’m blue in the face DO NOT GO HERE the lil man manger will talk to you as if he was 7ft instead of 3 ft he is RUDE RUDE WILL SELL YOU A VERY EXPENSIVE OPTION AS IF THats all you can do
