I brought my 2016 Dodge Journey to the dealership because it went into limp mode. I was told the throttle body needed to be replaced, and they also fixed my front door switch, for a total of about $2,000, including $725 in labor. (I was also told at the original repair that I needed a new battery but I chose not to get one because the battery I had was barely a little over a year old - I didn’t mention how old it was to them) After picking it up, I drove it home (4 miles), to work once (26 miles round trip), and then within 2 miles of leaving my house to go pick up my son from college, the car went back into limp mode. I called the dealership immediately, but it was the weekend and they were closed, so I left voicemails and brought it back on Monday. The second diagnosis was a clogged PCV valve which cost another $1,200, including $925 in labor. So when I took it back I honestly was thinking because I didn’t get the new battery the first time that’s what the repair would be. I was now told my battery was fine. So had I replaced it at the first repair it would have been $400 (given quoted price) spent that I didn’t need to do. I will also add that my A/C and heat worked just fine before I took my car to them for the first repair and now my A/C doesn’t blow cold at all. They claim nothing they did caused it but it was operating as it should prior to them touching it. It is frustrating and disappointing that the underlying issue or additional problem wasn’t identified during the first repair, especially since the problem returned within about 40 miles. I asked if the labor could be adjusted, but the request was denied. When I asked what would happen if the issue recurred, I was told they can’t predict the future. After spending $3,200, I left feeling that consideration for the missed issue was not given, trust that the issue is fixed and confidence that the issue would be handled properly if it happened again is nonexistent.

Do yourself a favor and go to a local shop. These clowns gave me a $1200 estimate to fix my door handle. I got it done at a local shop for $545. They also charged me $175 just to look at it
