Middletown Auto Repair

Recommended by another shop in Highspire because they don't have the equipment to do a front wheel alignment but can't make an appointment with Middletown Auto Repair because they never answer their phone and don't bother to return voicemails. My wife is a nurse and needs her vehicle, I wanted to get this done ASAP. Our available time to schedule appointments is at a premium. I'll be taking her Jeep to Pep Boys on 22 for the alignment instead since Middletown Auto Repair doesn't want my business.

This mechanic is lazy and seems to only want to do easy jobs like oil changes and inspections. I called about power steering and radiator repairs for one vehicle before and was turned way for the vehicle sounding too fancy and too hard of work for whoever was on the phone. Another time recently I had a starter in a pickup truck that needed replaced and I got it started and dropped it off and he calls me next day that it seems too difficult of a job for him and I need to pick my truck up. I recommend finding somebody that actually wants to fix cars instead of just wanting to little easy things to do. Balkin Automotive LLC is becoming my new favorite to do business with lately and they don’t mind if you bring your own parts!

I called this morning to get a new tire because my tire had continued to go flat after having it plugged so I figured It was just time for a new tire. He ordered the tire for me and called me when it was in. When he was finished with my car, he told me that it had a nail in it so he plugged it for me instead of putting a whole new tire on. I was very pleased at his honesty and professionalism. He said the tire had a lot of life in it and didn’t want to charge me for a tire if I didn’t need it. I will definitely be going back!

Went to look At a vw cabrio from a post the dealer put on Craigslist. Got there and the car was in decent shape until we started looking deeper. He said it would need some work and the check engine light was on. We asked him if he ran the codes and he went to get a reader. He plugged in a cheap ass code reader and sat for 10 minuted staring at the screen only to say it won’t read. He immediately took the attention off the codes and told us to take it for a drive. We took it for a drive down the road to a shop and had them read the codes. It read almost instantly and it came us with a whole list of things going wrong. The mechanic opened the hood and immediately pointed at about 6 or 7 major things that were wrong. There was tubing cut out causing oil to be sprayed onto the engine along with another list of things that was wrong that would cost about 4 or 5k to fix. Then on the way back to the lot the speedometers dropped and stopped working. The inspection was out also. He said he hadn’t looked at the car at all but clearly knew something was wrong. He wasn’t surprised when we angrily told him all the issues and just shrugged it off and walked away. Horrible and trashy establishment that should be shut down. DO NOT perform any transactions at this outfit. Not worth it. SCAM

Jim was able to fix my horn the same day. So happy that I found this guy very reasonable price too.
