Chad is a hidden gem in Elizabethtown. I first met Chad owner of "Keener Tire" and his service writer about 15 years ago as a young kid with a 1994 Pontiac Grand Am GT V6. I didn't know much about how suspension worked. Chad was the first mechanic to ever give my car a proper alignment, when many other shops in the past failed to make my car drive straight. After that I always went there. He only charged me for things my cars needed to drive right. Chad would always get the hard part done of installing the suspension, then give me pointers on how to adjust my suspension to get it how I wanted it. This always saved me a good bit of money, and taught me a lot about cars in the process with my next vehicle after the Grand Am. I ended up driving my second car, a built, Satin Silver Metallic 2001 Acura Integra GSR with a leather interior for nearly 10 years. With the springs, and polyurethane bushings Chad had installed, I had that car dialed in so perfectly. I replaced the upper control arms myself with camber adjustable ones. Chad told me they needed to be replaced to make my car "right", because it had previously been lowered, and the geometry was all wrong with the aftermarket arms. I since had other places align the car, but if it wasn't for Chad's initial help, and setup that car would have never gotten dialed in as well as it eventually did. It handled perfectly for many years with that suspension setup, up until the engine suffered catastrophic failure in June of 2024, and I was forced to sell the whole car for cheap due to mitigating circumstances. Ever since, Keener is top of my list to take my cars for everything from exhaust repair, to coolant system repair, electrical gremlins, and of course suspension bushings, wheel bearings, struts, and tire install. I've often probably annoyed Chad and his service writer with my cars, and all my particular requests. One would never know it though, because they have always treated me with the utmost honesty, respect, and candor. I used to always call his shop with questions about my car, and he and his service writer would always take time out of their day to answer my questions when I was working on my vehicle myself. Chad taught me "Sometimes one must take their licks in life"., when dealing with other shops who have ripped me off over the years, or general bad luck in life. Ive had to cancel appointments many times and Chad's service writer is always very understanding. Once, on a very windy day about 10 years ago, my door flung open when exiting my vehicle, and I dinged the door of one of his customers' cars with my Acura. A very minor (door ding). And I went straight to Chad to tell him. Chad was the calmest, and most to the point guy you could ever ask for. He gave me the customer's phone number immediately, and gave me a bunch of good advice to work it out. Chad doesn't sugar coat things, but he is never rude, or mean. I was able to work it out with his customer at the time. Chad's customers all seem like loyal, kind people. My insurance covered the whole thing. Paint-less Dent Removal was a new thing then, for only 80 dollars. Chad had indicated it could have costed multiple thousands at the time, with repaint, and dent repair. I really lucked out on that one..Chad always taught me that honesty is one's best ally in life. I haven't been in there recently with my current vehicle. Keener Tire has a long waiting list always, because Chad does not have a need to advertise. His loyal following have been happily going to Chad non-stop for decades because his services blow absolutely every other place nearby out of the water in terms of his knowledge, prices, and quality of work performed using his laser precise alignment rack, and digital balancing machine. I only trust 4 shops in E-town. 1. Keener Tire for alignments and suspension work. 2. Etown Autoworks for general repair and exhaust. 3. Sherman's Automotive for State Inspection. 4. Reider's Service Station to drop off used motor oil.

Finally a knowledgeable, non-backward tire shop in central PA!! I'm the typical guy - do most of my own auto work. Stuff I can't (like tires) I do my own research to diagnose the problem before I take it in. I had a bad vibration and asked the owner here if they do "road force balancing." The owner didn't condescend or bs me. Actually had a conversation with the guy. He walked me through exactly how he would diagnose a balance problem vs. structural problem in the tire. He filled me in that they do road force balancing, but actually a different diagnostic method would be better. Very helpful. Also, it took a while to get an appointment, which means they're busy, which means they're good. Do it! You won't regret it.

I am changing my review for Keener tires it was a five star now it's a two I take all my cars there and just today I had an 8:00 appointment for my daughter's car to get new tires put on cuz the other ones are dry rotting and they told me they should be changed last year. So when I called them to set up an appointment they said you have the first appointment at 8:00 I asked if my daughter could stay there cuz she has to go to work at 10:45 and they're like sure no problem. She gets there today and said well we're already working on someone else's car you're going to have to drop it off and come back. And now I'm not going to be able to have new tires put on my daughter's car before she goes back to college in 3 days.

Great service and honest evaluations of my vehicles during inspections. Chad always gives me a heads up if there are potential problems down the road. Todd does great work also.

I Love them. I started using them about 4 years ago after being overly charged at my previous mechanic. They always let me know the cost before they do any work and they NEVER add extra work by making things sound like a bigger deal then they really are. I think they are honest and to the point. I will never go anywhere else.
