I brought my 2019 Infiniti Q50 to Steve’s Auto for a suspension noise and ended up paying $979.85. They replaced the front sway bar links and performed an oil change. During that oil change, they replaced my oil pan (charged $360 for the part plus labor). I was never warned that my vehicle has a plastic oil pan, never told there was a risk of damage, and was not contacted before that additional repair was done. Customers should not be charged for damage that occurs during routine service without clear communication and authorization. Three days later, the exact same suspension noise came back. When I returned, I was then told it’s now supposedly the control arm bushings and that it would cost another $945 to fix. I asked why this wasn’t identified during the first diagnosis when I originally brought it in for a noise. I was told they “fixed what was obvious.” As a customer, I didn’t come in asking for sway bar links — I came in to fix a noise. After nearly $1,000 and the issue returning within days, being told I need to pay almost another $1,000 for a different suspension component that wasn’t properly checked the first time is unacceptable. Very disappointed with the lack of thorough diagnosis and communication. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before authorizing expensive repairs here.

Steve’s is one of the repair shops that “finds” new issues that “must” be addressed as they go, driving your total higher and higher. And even if they don’t fix what you initially brought the vehicle in for, they will not honor their initial Diagnosis, they will simple recharge you for it. If you enjoy being ripped off, Steve’s is your place.
