The old management is gone. A few months back was my first time with new management I came in for an inspection and was told I need a brakes replaced or it will not pass inspection. I was surprised as he said it was too unsafe to drive. I had no indication driving the car that this was the case. But I agreed. Car had 52k miles. Seemed reasonable. The atritude was such that it was a huge job to have to do on the spot, but as a favor to me they would do it. I also had to give up 3 hours unplanned and wait for it. Not fun for anybody! The second time I came for oil change and tire rotation. I was greeted with that I was supposed to be there earlier. I advised the app said to drop off between 0730 and 1100. There was no firm drop off time. Again, I was made to feel like they were doing me a favor taking care of my car on an over booked day and he was short one mechanic. They did find dirty cabin and engine filters and upsold me on the one they had in stock. What he showed me was very dirty. But I just didnt have a good feeling with the front end person Dan. Im sad to say I am not trusting any of his findings anymore. I wont be back.

Pretty knowledgeable and straight forward people. They don't try and sell you 8 things, when you only need 1. The prices are fairly reasonable for the area (nothing is cheap anymore). Make an appointment, as it's a lot easier with them giving you your car, more quickly.
View on GoogleHad a great experience at Monroe Muffler. I had a 5 PM appointment for my inspection, but I accidentally went to the wrong location first. When I realized my mistake, I called Monroe and explained what happened. They were very kind, gave me clear directions along with a landmark to help me find my way. By the time I arrived it was around 5:30 PM, and I was immediately greeted at the counter. When I said I had an appointment, the employee responded with my name right away, clearly expecting me despite my delay. My car was taken in pretty quickly, which I really appreciated. The waiting area is open and a little uncomfortable, and the television setup is behind the customer seating, which made it difficult to watch. Other than that, the experience was excellent overall. I truly appreciated the later appointment time and, even more importantly, that they accommodated me even though I arrived late.

I came in thinking I had a serious brake problem because I was hearing a grinding noise from the rear of my car after a long drive. They were able to get me in right away and take a look at it. Dan at the front desk was incredibly personable, friendly, and helpful from the moment I walked in. The team checked the brakes and were completely honest with me — the brakes were actually fine and it was just a small issue they were able to fix. They also took care of my oil change while I was there. It’s refreshing to find a shop that is this honest and professional. They could have easily told me I needed new brakes, but instead they did the right thing and explained everything clearly. Great service, great people, and a very trustworthy place to bring your car. I highly recommend Monroe Automotive in Wappingers Falls!
