Pleasant Beach Hotel

Absolutely the best location we have chosen to stay when visiting the Fair Haven / Oswego area. The venue, staff, location, restaurant, and bar were all over the top. Priced reasonably and fair. Everything about the place is beautiful and the food was okay. It's taking me a minute to write this but since I was bothered so much by it I felt like I needed to. I had a waitress name Jessica and she was just plain rude and awful. I won't be back simply because the service she gave. Other than that the place was fine and beautiful but I just couldn't take how terrible the service was. I really hope that she gets better or finds a position that suits her better.

Dining experience in every way was absolutely fantastic.. our Servicer Jessica was helpful with suggestions on what to order, polite, checked in several times, cleared away used glasses and plates.. The food was absolutely delicious.. my husband had a large haddock dinner and loved it .. I had lobster tail and Caesar salad excellent.. the view overlooking the Bay is magical… I would highly recommend this restaurant and plan to go weekly. We only ate at the restaurant so I can’t rate the rooms.

Being raised in the area years ago I was aware of the reputation and history of the PBH. Never in 70 years have i dined or even entered the place. So I headed back home to give it a try before I die. Really big disappointment, I was seated quickly out side were it was a warm sunny September Sunday afternoon only having to listen to a blaring football game being broadcasted from a tied off docked boat that was over bearing. It was every were. I can deal with that, maybe? So I ordered drinks and food. A whole quarter of a football game went by, which I didn't want to here, before my food arrived. A simple cheese burger and fries ordered cooked well. The roll was like burn't toast, charcoal. The burger was even worse. I tried to eat it, couldn't. Even trimmed the top of and the bottom of it off maybe the middle was ok, nope. The frys were stone cold too under cooked. I complained to the waitress and she apologized and offered another, then I apologized to her for the embarrassment it created. Didn't want to have to wait that long again for another. I left hungry and disappointed, took the over and undercooked food back home with me and thought maybe the dog might try to eat it? She did but she would eat a chair cushion if I let her. Over priced chow. I will never be back. Some one has to pay more attention. Just SAD.

Hard to put into words the vine of this place. I had never been and lived in the area a long time. We walked in to you look like yoi will be just fine at the bar with no offer of a table. Then waited 15 minutes for a bar tender to come over to our group and even acknowledge our presence. Then when ask for a menu waited another 15 minutes while she went back to her conversation with the regulars.The menu was very weak average bar food with titles like millionaire grill cheese at a above average price. The titles of the food also give off the vibe where all the big fish in a small pond go to feel big. Such a sad place
