Knowledgeable and friendly! They also have a real enthusiasm for all makes and models of cars and really do care about daily use vehicles and non luxury vehicles. This isn’t always the case out in the Hamptons. Their differential diagnosis skills are exemplary, and they are very good at explaining how they arrived at the probable cause of issues, along with clearly stating what will be done to fix it. The owner is very kind and knows tons about electric vehicles of all kinds The waiting area is very clean and for an easily distracted anxious mind like mine: uncluttered and well organized. It’s like sitting in a well arranged car guy’s or gal’s garage. The conversations between the coworkers here are wonderful to eavesdrop on: a functional working relationship between all of them with moments of levity. I have a 5 months old Tesla. One of my tires was loosing air. Sounded like a nail in the tire. I called Tesla and all they wanted to do is to sell me a new tire for $500. I came to Joe’s garage, without an appointment, and he fixed my tire by pulling out a screw from it, while I was waiting. It all took 30 min and $65. Joe never fails!

Joe’s Garage did an excellent job repairing my Volkswagen Tiguan. The work involved diagnosing and fixing a serious carbon buildup issue in the engine, which required extensive labor and careful work. They kept me informed throughout the process and completed the repair properly. Since the repair, my car runs noticeably better with improved power and responsiveness. I really appreciate their professionalism and attention to detail.

I brought my BMW M340i to Joe’s Garage for a rear axle replacement. I provided the new axle (OEM direct replacement) and was charged $1,200 for labor alone. They claimed 4.1 hours of book time, which includes replacing axle shaft seals — but my seals were never replaced. They were in good shape and didn’t need service, yet I was still charged for that labor. When I asked for a fair adjustment, they refused. If that wasn’t enough, they didn’t properly tighten an exhaust clamp, which caused a rattle, so I had to bring the car back. During that visit, the owner asked my girlfriend, “Do you always take commands from him?” — completely unprofessional and out of line. Then, in front of other customers, he told me I was a “pain in the ass” multiple times. I stayed respectful the entire time. On top of it all, the owner was walking around the shop in socks. Between the overcharging, the poor workmanship, and the unprofessional attitude, this was a terrible experience. I gave them every opportunity to make it right — they chose not to. If you care about your car, your time, or being treated with basic respect, I’d recommend taking your business elsewhere.
