Long-Time Customer But That Clearly Doesn’t Matter Here I’ve been going to this mechanic for years, which is exactly why this review is so frustrating to write. When you stick with a place that long, it’s because you trust them. You expect consistency, honesty, and at the very least, basic communication. Unfortunately, over time, I’ve started to feel like that loyalty has been taken for granted. Lately, the pricing has started to feel questionable. I’m not someone who nitpicks every dollar, but I do pay attention, and things just haven’t been sitting right. It’s gotten to the point where I find myself questioning whether everything being charged is actually necessary. That’s not a good feeling to have when you’re dealing with someone you’ve trusted with your car for years. On top of that, the communication has been consistently poor, and I don’t mean once or twice. This has become a pattern. I’m always the one who has to call for updates. I’m the one following up. I’m the one trying to figure out what’s going on. There have been multiple times where my car was already ready, and no one even bothered to notify me. I had to call and find out on my own. That’s the part that really gets me. It’s not just about the work, it’s about how customers are treated. A simple phone call to say “your car is ready” should be standard, not something I have to chase down. It shouldn’t feel like I’m inconveniencing the shop by asking for an update on my own vehicle. And to be clear, this isn’t a one-time issue. This has happened more than once, which is why I can’t just brush it off anymore. When something keeps repeating itself, it stops being a mistake and starts looking like a habit. At this point, I feel like my business is expected rather than appreciated. Like I’ll just keep coming back no matter what, so there’s no need to go the extra mile or even handle the basics properly. That’s a disappointing realization after being a loyal customer for so long. A perfect example of what I’m talking about happened this week. I dropped my car off on Monday (for coil #1 replacement) and didn’t hear anything that day. When I called Tuesday morning, I was told the warranty company hadn’t even been contacted yet and that call would be made “tomorrow.” Then on Wednesday, I got a call from the warranty company saying the price of the job had increased because an additional labor charge was added (I did this same job last year, coil #3). At that point, it started to feel like unnecessary charges were being stacked on. Now it’s Friday, and once again, I haven’t received a single update. Based on past experience, I already know I’ll probably have to call just to find out my car is ready, instead of being notified like I should be. The final straw for me was this week. My car has been there since Monday for something that should be a quick job, and here we are on Friday with no car and no communication. Not a single call, not a single update. Once again, I’m left having to chase down information about my own vehicle. That shouldn’t be normal, and it definitely shouldn’t be expected. I don’t expect perfection, but I do expect transparency, fairness, and communication, especially from a place I’ve trusted for years. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been my experience lately. Between the growing concerns about pricing and the ongoing lack of communication, I’ve reached the point where I’m no longer comfortable continuing to do business here. Loyalty should go both ways, and right now, it doesn’t feel like it does. At this point, I’m choosing to take my business elsewhere. I expected better after all these years, and that’s really what it comes down to.
