Schroon Lake Department Store

One of my favorite stores to wander in! It’s so evident the heart and hard work that goes into this beautiful shop. Always something new, always thoughtfully displayed, great for gifts (and special treats for yourself). The town logo’d items are quality, so many fun toys, and lovely home items. Such a gem!

This store is a gem in the Adirondacks. It was wonderful before the current owners added their touch, but now it is simply outstanding. Every display is thoughtful and there is something for everyone at this store. I loved the candy section that has some candies that are hard to find nowadays. There is also tea made in Schroon Lake used with herbs grown locally in Salem, NY. My husband loved the selection of Tevas, Altras, and things you might need for a hiking trip. My kids loved the toy section and there are some unique toys that I have not seen before. Every area of the store is warm and inviting. Well done to the owners. It is more important than ever to shop local and we will be back soon!

This store has always been a favorite of mine but the new owners took a local staple and turned it into a true destination. The changes to the inventory have brought in some modern updates while retaining the charm. From the high quality clothing to the housewares and my children’s favorite toy section, we are so lucky to have this store in the town. They even have a great selection of stickers!

My family has lived in Schroon Lake for a long time, and my fiancé and I come up every year to visit. We always stop at The Schroon Lake Department Store for our souvenirs! When we walked in this year we were so pleasantly surprised by the renovation of the new owners. It looks great! They have preserved the charm and history of the store, while updating it to make finding everything easier. They have such a great selection for everyone in the family. Stop in ☺️

We love stopping in Schroon Lake Department Store whenever we are in town to peruse. They always have high quality products that make for great gifts for family and friends! The store was great before but even better with all the renovations!
