Bracy's Auto Repairs

I took my Toyota Rav4 to have it checked out for vibration between 20-40mph. My concern was potentially the torque converter. I expected Bracy's to do proper diagnostics to identify the issue...Trans, TC, drive shaft, etc.... I primarily spoke with Rob, who could not really give me a clear understanding as to the level of trouble shooting they performed, but the conclusion was the trans was bad and a replacement would be 7K. Based on that, I wanted to better understand the level of diagnostics performed that resulted in that conclusion. I am an engineer by trade, can’t help it. I was not able to personally talk with Rick. I did stop down but he was out on errands. Either way I don’t have the time to hunt down the owner, it is the responsibility of the shop to call the customer with the details to support the conclusion. Especially if it is a 7K problem. I personally think Rick simply drove the car and made a judgment based on experience. I am sure he is right 95% percent of the time. But in this case he was wrong. It happens and sometime too busy to vet things out. Since it wasn’t clear as to the level of diagnostics or if any was performed, I took the car to Terry Transmission on Taft Road, and their diagnostics concluded the rear drive shaft u joint. Problem solved, the car drives perfect now. I think Bracy's owes me a free transmission fluid change, for I was ready to dump the RAV and buy a new car based on their initial assessment. Good lesson in getting a second opinion.

Rick did my transmission about a year ago. My car still drive like new to this day. Glad to work with a mechanic shop that knows what they are doing!

Ken was great! He explained everything to me in detail, and made me feel very welcome and appreciated. He was very quick with the repairs, and the price was very reasonable for what needed to be done! I would recommend him to anyone with car issues, locally owned businesses are the way to go! I've had a better experience with this shop than I've ever had at Monroe Muffler and this was my first visit.

Top notch transmission, differential, engine and drive line repairs. "Rick" the new owner, (he has worked there many years previously & has taken over from Ken) does everything he can to accommodate the customer. It's a great place to bring your vehicle for repair. He is usually very busy so I suggest calling him and making an appointment. Chris & Chris are very competent technicians and great guys as well. I highly recommend going there ! Rick is also an awesome fisherman 🎣 Update 2024: The New owner is "Rick" is a top mechanic and a top-notch transmission rebuilder. Rick is a great guy and he will do the right thing for you. I highly recommend that you go there for your automotive repairs, especially in the transmission and drive line areas. It's an honest run place and I can't say enough about how good it is. I go there very frequently for my automotive needs. You won't be disappointed.

Bracy’s is an extremely reliable, trustworthy, & honest repair shop. As a single woman, I’m always hesitant to look for a place to take my car. I’ve had some pretty crappy experiences with being lied to & paying too much. Thankfully I read the great reviews on here & decided to try Bracy’s. They did a great job & called me later that afternoon, with it finished. I was impressed that even though I had a transmission issue, they helped me get my sunroof shut. My car was running beautifully after I left. The price was fair & reasonable. I couldn’t be happier. I thought it only right to take the time to write a review for the next person in my shoes.
