Ace Muffler & Brake

I was a non local resident with a bad exhaust leak on my car, and Ace Muffler and Brake was the only place I could get in while I was in the area. While I admit their services were quick and got me home safely, I was very disappointed to discover that they did not give me a receipt for their work on my car, and said work included completely REMOVING one of my car's two catalytic converters, leaving a plain exhaust pipe in its place. They did not disclose this undesired alteration when I paid in cash, and overall I felt very swindled, and purportedly they told me upon later communication that the 2nd was not necessary and saved me money on the job. I am not leaving a lower review because their work was legal and effective, but I did not appreciate the lack of transparency at the time, as it led to a lot of personal concern.

Neil is one fabulous mechanic. I would def recommend him. He is very knowledgable, personable, reliable and consistent w his work. Always a great job from an amazingly trustworthy mechanic and all around nice guy as well.

Neil is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to older cars. The first time I called he said stop by and was able to diagnose the problem and give me a price. He has now fixed a few items on my car and I'm thankful to have found someone trustworthy and reliable, as we are new to the area. He is fairly priced and nice guy and that's everything in my book! My old Honda CRV and I thank you!

On my way from NJ to Ithaca, my muffler more or less started to fall off. Luckily, I was able to find this place, and the owner was able to squeeze me in first thing the next morning. He was honest and professional throughout the whole process. The price was reasonable and he fixed my car right up. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. Love a good old fashioned mechanic that know what they are doing.
