Clifton Springs Travel Plaza

Stopped here on my drive from Niagara Falls back to New Jersey. I was really glad this plaza had a gas station because it turned out to be the last one I saw for the rest of the trip. The travel plaza itself is your typical modern Applegreen style stop, clean, bright, and easy to navigate. Restrooms were well maintained, and everything felt updated and convenient. Nothing fancy, but exactly what you need on a long drive. Reliable place to fill up and take a quick break.

These new rest areas along the thruway are incredible. Clean, pleasant, spacious, beautiful. Love the seating areas and clean bathrooms. Great job NY state!

Large travel center with Sunoco Gas, Starbucks, Shake Shack, Chik-fil-a and Auntie Anne’s. Restrooms are large and clean and there is a dedicated area for nursing mothers as well as EV Chargers.

This was my first time in one of the renovated Thruway rest stops, and I was fairly impressed. The building was rather spacious and airy, with quite a number of live plants for what springs to mind when the term 'rest area's or 'travel plaza' is mentioned. The restaurants and convenience shops were all clean, well-lit, and easily accessible. There's also a tiny little outdoor play space for little kids with too much energy after being stuck in car seats for longer than they might like. As we stopped for the restrooms, I'll note that they were also spacious and clean. It also seems that they are broken into mirroring areas, so one area can be closed for cleaning while leaving the other half open, so there should always be amenities available.

Great place to stop on I-90 East. There is a Shake Shack, Chick-fil-A, Auntie Anne's, and Starbucks inside, along with plenty of seating. Parking is ample, and the restrooms are clean. Play area for kids outside, and like all the new Thruway plazas, it has a nice feel to it.
