Stewart's Shops

While in town I came here for some bottled water and cold meds… they have a decent selection of both and had what I needed. The place seems really popular, as there were lots of cars in the lot and many folks inside checking out, so there was a line, but the lone guy working behind the counter was using two registers simultaneously to check people out quicker. Overall, decent place to stop in for convenience items!

Great shop! We ordered 5 pizzas and they were hot and ready in under 30 mins AND delicious. In the morning, the warmers were stocked with breakfast sandwiches and they were delicious. The coffee was fresh and hot and the brownie sundaes were the perfect dessert.

To Whom It May Concern, I’m writing to formally express my disappointment with the unacceptable experience I had at your store last night. I am no stranger to Stewart’s and fully understand how busy and demanding these stores can be — in fact, I worked at a busier location in Albany myself. That said, there is no excuse for the level of carelessness and rudeness I encountered. When I came in, the store was not busy. I purchased multiple Gatorades and some candy bars for my children. The cashier barely looked up, scanned the items, and carelessly tossed everything into a single paper bag — despite it being obvious that I was juggling several young kids. She did not double-bag the heavy order or pack it in a way that made sense, given the weight and shape of the items. Predictably, the bag ripped on my way back to the hotel. When I got inside, I realized the candy bars were never put in the bag. I returned to the store and explained what happened, only to be treated with complete disrespect. Because I didn’t have the receipt — which I normally don’t bother with for a quick snack run — I was accused of lying. The cashier insisted she never scanned the candy bars, refused to provide them, and then escalated the situation by telling me to leave when I offered to simply repurchase them. Frankly, I was stunned at how petty and unprofessional her behavior was. Her carelessness created this problem in the first place — from poor bagging to failing to include paid-for items — yet I was the one treated like an inconvenience. I expect Stewart’s to address this immediately. The cashier should be held accountable for her behavior and lack of basic customer service skills. I am requesting an apology and a refund for the missing items. I look forward to your prompt response.

Extremely rude customer service!!! We were there few days ago and the two guys there were nice, so we decided to pass by there again. Tonight was a different service. The big woman at the register was very rude to us, gave me an attitude, and even was screaming to us. Extremely bad service, I never been treated it like this before. I wouldn’t come back here. The place doesn’t even deserve one star.

I came to this store several times throughout my week stay in the Adirondacks. Bathroom was always clean, coffee was always hot and quite the flavor variety! Not often am I able to catch names, but Greer and Shirley really do a great effort running this store to be as efficient as your stop could be. Thanks everyone I enjoyed coming here and the coffee!
