TA Travel Center

Pulled into this TA in Binghamton on Thanksgiving after a long day dragging a heavy load through snow and sleet, and their holiday meal deal absolutely hit the spot. For $16.99 you get a choice of three different dinners, plus a drink and dessert. I went with the turkey dinner: thick slices of turkey, mashed potatoes smothered in gravy, and a big pile of broccoli. Classic comfort food, hot, salty, and exactly what you want when you’ve been staring at the windshield all day. Dessert was a slice of strawberry cheesecake (cheesecake, not shortcake) with whipped cream on top. It was rich, creamy, and honestly way better than I expected for a truckstop holiday special. Perfect sweet finish before heading back out to the truck. The restaurant itself wasn’t very busy, which made it calm and relaxing, and the lady working the floor was really nice. I had just finished delivering a load of plastic up the road to a 24/7 manufacturer, so being able to sit down, breathe, and have a real Thanksgiving meal meant a lot. Huge thanks to the TA and Country Pride crew here for being open on Thanksgiving. Drivers really do appreciate it — I know I sure did. One request: please bring back the salad bar. That was always a great option on the road and it would make an already solid stop even better.

This place is a mixed bag. Like all TA’s everything is way over priced, but parking in this state is severely limited for truckers so we have to live with it. Restrooms are upstairs. They do not have an elevator. The stairs are narrow with two landings. Two men can barely turn sideways and pass each other. Showers and laundry are also upstairs as well as the lounge and fitness center. The coffee bar is limited to two kinds. Colombian and an unmarked coffee. The only creamer is French Vanilla or powdered. The parking lot is cratered like the surface of the moon. You’ll rearrange your cabinets if you aren’t careful driving through here. The restaurant hours are 9AM - 9PM so plan meals accordingly if this is where you plan to stop.

Shower heads need to be cleaned or replaced. Can tell most of the holes in the heads are blocked and no water comes put of many of the holes. Country pride staff and food was courteous and good. Shower Temps and pressure was otherwise good. Decent place to park for the night, loves down the road with a wendys. Laundry room was decent as well. Facilities seemed clean. Theres a dunkin and subway at the gas station next door which makes this a prime stop. Showers actually work here unlike the Loves down the road which is trash. Comdata code is NY025

and now it’s 7:00 PM. I waited four hours. When I got here, all the bays were empty, so I thought the work would start quickly. The guy at check-in said, “A couple of hours,” even though they weren’t busy at all. Four hours later, the bays are still empty, and I haven’t been called. It’s now clear that on Fridays, they just don’t want to work. They sit around, do nothing, and wait for you to leave. This isn’t the first time. It’s disgraceful. Last time, they didn’t want to replace the battery, and I had to call a mobile service. What’s going on here?! If anyone is reading this, something needs to change. This is awful. Everyone just wants to go home, not sit around being deceived by lazy people.

In the restaurant a man bring a Great Dane which is note keep people hygiene safe. There should be a policy for some areas. None of the employees ask the dog owner he’s not allowed to have home in here at restaurants. To be honest I really not enjoyed my food here.
