Been here before the waiting area change and now coming here again seeing the updated area its so clean and nice, there's also a little game table you can sit at and play to pass time as well. The advisors are really kind and approachable, Kelvin helped me personally and was super nice and straight forward about everything.

I just got my inspection, oil change and some repairs today. First thing is the place looks great with the new renovation. I thought it was so nice of Keione to stay late so I could pick up my car late. Earlier he also took pictures of my front (new) & back (worn out) struts so I could see the work really needed to be done. I really appreciated the friendly service today.

I went to Pep Boys in Hicksville New York. I believe it was June 14, 2026 .I had to have someone jump my husband‘s car so I could drive there. My husband had passed away the day before and this was really hard for me to do and I was so lucky to have David help me. He was amazing. He was kind and professional, empathetic, knowledgeable, friendly, polite , happy guy and that’s exactly what I needed right then to help me fix the problem. Kelvin did a great job of putting in a new battery right away. He was very helpful. They had a nice lounge for me to wait in and took care of everything in a very short time. I greatly appreciate their Customer Service. David you were amazing. I will continue to go to Pep Boys and tell everyone I know just because of David and Kelvin’s customer service. Every employee there was polite, professional, and friendly.David you’re a good one. Your kindness was greatly appreciated. , Thank you!

Avoid AT ALL COSTS. I came in for a routine NYSI on a well-maintained personal vehicle. After waiting for an hour and a half (no problem, last minute inspection on the 1st of the month), I approached the advisor at the front desk, Danny/Daniel. Upon asking about the status of the car, I was told the car “fails inspection” for the rear brakes. When I mentioned that I personally checked the brakes myself and stated the rear pads should be between 3-4mm, I was asked to wait and the advisor went to the back. Upon his return, I was told that I was correct, and the failure is due to “uneven wear on the inner and outer pads”. This type of “uneven wear” common and understandable, but absolutely not a failure point for brakes under the NYS vehicle inspection guidelines. I know this, as I am a licensed New York State DMV Inspector and have been for several years. The advisor then told me if I want the car to pass inspection today, they won’t do it unless the brake work is to be performed. This is a clear and abhorrent violation of the DMV Inspection Station guidelines. I am used to shops like this trying to upsell minor work during a NYSI in order to make it more worth their time, but to outright refuse an inspection unless unnecessary work is performed is quite honestly a disgusting business practice, and further reverberates the negative stigmas in the automotive repair and service industry. The entire staff should be ashamed of this behavior, and the management is almost definitely directly responsible for this. Do not bring your vehicles to this facility, ever.

Tire blew out on northern state and i was able to get into these guys and they took care of it 1,2,3. A bit of a wait but considering i had rolled in on a flat no appointment i was taken care of pretty fast. Staff and technician where nice and helpful and they lounge was nice
