Pep Boys Auto Service & Tires

On January 31, 2026 I scheduled an appointment online, snd selected the battery shown available at pep Boys Elmont branch. When I arrived, I informed the staff about the appointment, provided my information they requested, the staff found my appointment showing that the battery was available. The staff asked me for the car key and directed me to take a seat while they will take care of my car. I was under the impression that the car will be ready within a reasonable time. After, I waited for about “30” minutes , I was informed that the battery for the grand total of $179.22 was not available and offered me a battery that will cost “$325.00” or more, and I said no. I was in disbelief after I made the appointment that showed the battery was available, proceeded to this branch and I was not informed from the beginning at this branch that the battery was not available , so I can go to another place and buy it and get it installed. I was not even offered a discount for the inconvenience to see if I would opt to buy the $325.00 battery instead. I don’t understand why the staff didn’t acknowledged from start that the battery was not available at all and made me waste all this time and tried to sell me a “jacked up price” $325.00 battery. I suggest you need to inform your customers from the beginning and not let them waste their time while in stead, you tried to “push” or sell the most expensive battery. Also, at least offer a discount price for the inconvenience and time wasted. If I were offered a better price for the battery, probably I would have opted for it. This showed a poor customer service provided to me. Reminding you a customer needs to be informed immediately you didn’t have the battery upon arrival to this branch and then tried to push a more expensive one. I’ll never go to this Pep Boys branch again, not recommend or purchase anything from you. Thank you!

The tire I needed for my flat wasn’t available on site at the time I was there. The service manager was able to order the tire for me and get it there the same day. I was well informed about the timing of repairs, the price was less compared to going to the dealer, and the service manager was great to work with. I have been coming to this location for years and will continue to do service at this location for future needs.

I had a great experience at PEP BOYS of Elmont. I purchased a set of Cooper Adventurer All Seasons and good condition OEM wheels for my mom to mount them on. Three of my sensors broke and KEINO (Service Rep) went out of his way to find a used one just to get me by temporarily. Which I appreciate. That was unmatched customer service. It's rare that you get that. Charan (Tech) who serviced my vehicle was very honest and informed me on some things I did not notice or might need attention because my vehicle showed no warning light in the dash. This is one of the best locations of Pep Boys. I visited several times and had excellent experience especially the Manager. Very efficient and quick interactions and pleasant response for service. I will definitely recommend to everyone.

experience was great. Chris was great at the front desk. He was very informative on keeping me updated on the progress of my car. I really appreciate his customer service. Wayne at the front was very respectful and informative as well. I also want to thank Josh who changed my tires and Jamie who assisted him as well.
