Audi Albany Service Center

I have been servicing my Audi at this location for the past two years and consistently had excellent experiences with Ben and other guy. Unfortunately, my recent interaction with Shawn was extremely disappointing and completely changed my perception. I brought my vehicle in due to an Audi pre-sense and distance warning alert. After a brief inspection, Shawn stated that the sensor was damaged and quoted $700 for replacement, along with a $220 diagnostic fee if damage was confirmed—even though the vehicle is under factory warranty. I pointed out that the sensor appeared intact and asked if prior service photos (typically taken during visits) could be reviewed, but none were available. Seeking a second opinion, I visited an independent repair shop where the technician clearly showed that the sensor was intact. The issue was a loose grill clip, which was fixed immediately, and the system simply required recalibration—not replacement. When I contacted Shawn again to request recalibration, I was quoted $499 due to “outside influence.” I escalated the matter to the service manager, who stated he would speak with Shawn and the technician and call me back—but I never received that follow-up. After multiple attempts to resolve the issue, including speaking with the general manager, I was informed I might still be responsible for the $220 diagnostic fee if they determined there was damage. At no point was I given a clear explanation as to why a $700 replacement was recommended before completing a proper diagnosis, especially when the sensor was intact. This experience felt misleading and unprofessional. We choose authorized Audi service centers to avoid unnecessary repairs and to ensure transparency. Unfortunately, this visit significantly impacted my trust and left me deeply disappointed.

Audi Albany always has great service and nice folks to work with whenever I need help with my car. They have a quiet place to sit while waiting and keep me informed of their progress. There's no high pressure to add extra services, which I appreciate. I'll continue to bring my 2014 S-7 there for service!

Had an 11:30 appointment. Told the service dept I could leave the car “for a little bit.” Was told they would call when it was done. When I hadn’t heard from them by 2:15 I called and was told that no one had even looked at the car yet! Not sure what Audi thinks a reservation means. Like in the Seinfeld episode at the rental car counter, anyone can “take” a reservation. It’s the “holding” of the reservation that’s the most important part of the reservation.

Great experience. Bob Carberg and the Audi Albany team went over and above to get the exact vehicle my wife wished for. Highly recommend if you're in the market for an Audi.

The service rep took care of me promptly and kept me updated about the status of the car. I came in for oil change and related service and the mechanic found that my brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced - expensive! The service rep explained my alternatives and took me into the shop so I could see the condition of the rotors. Considering all that was done, it was fairly prompt (I waited).
