My name is Jesse Noriega do not at no point get your car fixed. I paid over $4000 for a transmission and I was told it would be a brand new separate one from my car and not rebuilt to come and find out after it went out over five times that my car was never given a different transmission and my old one was kept being rebuilt after it going out on the fifth time, they don’t respond to your messages and Rude over the phone do not at any point get your transmission fixture and if the owner reads this Mike, yeah you know who I am. You have my number. Call me because you’ve been playing phone games for over two months.

I recently had transmission problems with my Ford F-150 pickup so I took it to Steve at Global Auto for a diagnosis and repair. Turns out that my transmission was in need of a complete rebuild . I trusted Global to do the job and I'm glad that I did. They did an awesome job and my truck is running smoothly again. Thank you Steve for being there with the knowledge of my truck's problem and professionalism in getting the job done in a few days , not weeks.

I rarely write reviews, but after multiple negative experiences at Global Auto, I feel it’s necessary to warn others. I initially brought my car in for an oil change and to investigate a suspected antifreeze leak. The tech claimed there was no leak. Shortly after, I returned with the same issue — this time, I was told there was a leak, possibly a head gasket, but they weren’t sure. On a later visit, the leak was mentioned again, and the tech said it was a clamp that needed replacement — but I was never told whether that repair was actually done. Next, I brought the car in for A/C issues — it only blew cold air on the freeway. I had previously had the A/C recharged and evaluated at this shop, and I replaced the compressor in 2023 (with a lifetime warranty). The tech said they recharged the A/C again and everything was good — except now I needed new brakes and rotors. Since I was having multiple services done, I asked about a package discount. I was transparent: if they couldn’t come close, I had someone who could do my brakes for $100. They declined — which is fine — but the tech’s attitude noticeably shifted after I said that. Then came the kicker: I was told the same exact A/C issue still existed — cold air only when revving. That’s the original problem I brought the car in for. Suddenly, I was told the compressor needed to be replaced again (despite the warranty). Even with that covered, I was told I’d still have to pay for the A/C recharge and three hours of labor — roughly the same cost as the declined brake job. They quoted $175/hr, though I was ultimately charged $125/hr, matching 2023 rates. Still, that’s steep and inconsistent. The tech promised to call and confirm if the car would be done that day — he never did. I later learned my receipt and personal business were discussed with another customer, which is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. My wife called the shop at 4:48 PM (they close at 5 PM). The owner texted her at 6:36 PM saying the compressor hadn’t arrived until 4:45 PM and the car would be ready midday. Oddly, at 9:20 AM the next morning, the tech called saying the car was already done. So apparently, it didn’t take three hours after all. When I picked up the car, I calmly shared my concerns about communication and asked whether the tech worked on commission — because it felt like I was being upsold at every step. The owner shushed me and dismissed my concerns completely. That’s all I needed to know about how this shop operates — zero accountability and no respect for the customer. After my wife left a review, the owner finally responded — not to us directly, but publicly — saying he was “avoiding conflict.” Ironically, his tech walked in during our conversation and nothing was addressed. If he truly wanted to resolve things, he could’ve called us later, the next day, or even Monday. He only reached out after a poor review was posted. That’s not conflict resolution — that’s damage control. Another concern: both my wife and I were called repeatedly with no clarity on who the actual customer was. As a married lesbian couple, it felt like we were treated as interchangeable, not respected as individuals. Finally, shortly after driving off, we heard a dragging noise. The splash guard on the right wheel — which protects the oil filter and belt — hadn’t been bolted down and was dragging on the ground. Between the misdiagnoses, poor communication, lack of follow-up, and sloppy work — this was the last straw. We won’t be returning. If you value honest communication, respectful service, and competent vehicle care — I highly recommend going elsewhere.

Have been contemplating whether or not to write a review. Have been coming to this shop for over 4 years and had been making referrals to anyone that needed an honest and affordable mechanic. Sadly, I no longer believe this to be true of this shop. And to be clear, I think the tech is doing most of this and maybe the owner isn’t aware but it’s hard to tell who is the source of the problem. The last two times I have had a poor experience. Last summer (June 2024) I had a check engine light on and needed the evap purge value solenoid replaced. Got it done plus a new gas gap and was charged about $460. The parts alone were (44 for the solenoid and 16.93 for gas cap - found online and at autozone for comparable pricing). I was charged $198 for parts and another $250 for the labor. I asked about this up-charge as it didn’t make sense to me. I was then told by the tech that I had a leak due to a small crack in the vapor canister as well but it was “fixed” and this wouldn’t show up on the print out because they were doing me a solid, and I was good to go (where the up-charge supposedly came in- as it was explained to me). Ok fine, cool, appreciate it. Car fixed, move on. Come February 2025, my check engine light came on again and I would be unable to pass smog due to it reading a similar code to June 2024. It turns out this time it’s a bigger crack and the vapor canister needed to be replaced - so my issue in June 2024 wasn’t fixed, got worse, and was now going to be expensive to fix. I needed to have it fixed immediately because I needed to pass smog and renew my registration. The part runs for $195 - again found online and autozone for comparable pricing. I was charged $433 for parts and another $470 for labor. However I did ask for an oil change this time so that’s some of that labor cost and possible part cost. I still don’t understand why it was $433 in parts and why I needed to get it replaced when it was supposedly fixed 8 months prior. When I talked to the tech about this, he went on and on about how it was a different code, I stated you told it me it got fixed so you’re admitting that you didn’t fix it in June after all. Well no, it’s a different code and so on and so on (yeah for a big crack this time). The reason for my review after a considerable amount of time is that a similar situation just happened to my wife. Quoted one thing, parted out a price for something that’s under warranty, and having to pay a large amount for labor also reporting the brakes would be this much with charging $175-200 and hour for labor which would take two hours do change the brakes. The brake job was declined as it can be done cheaper elsewhere and then come to find out another service needed to be completed now that wasn’t first stated. Seems like they got to make their money one way or another. After declining adding the brake job, the tech became upset and had an attitude. We had been waiting for a call on whether to pick up the car or not, didn’t get a call but got a text about 2 hours after closing. When my wife went in the next day to pay and pick up the car, she talked to the owner about her experience with the tech and she was shushed. Literally shushed. Incredible! The same tech that told her prior that he worked in another shop where he was told to go find something wrong with every car that came in. Seems like he carried this same mentality and practice when he came to this shop. I get times are harder in this growing/harsh economy, but some things are just wrong. I’m not sure if it is just the mechanic standard to up-charge so much so “we can make money,” something they do to take advantage of women (being up-charged because we “don’t know any better”) or if this is a newer process for this shop. Whatever way you cut it, it’s wrong and I’d look elsewhere.

I highly recommend this place. Steve is awesome regarding customer service. He was very informative since the moment I told him about the issues I had with my car. He answered all my questions and provided me extra information. They worked on my car really fast. When other places told me that it would take two or three weeks for the repair.. here they made it in three days and for a really good price. Thanks for everything Steve!
