im leaving this review neutral. R & m are good mechanics that do a pro job but just charge too much money for repairs. a $200 job turns into a $500 job. a $700 job turns into a $1,500 job . they really pinch your wallet for every dollar they can get out of you, this is why i don’t recommend this store to anyone . Whats suspicious is after a minor repair here only a month or two later i notice an oil gasket leak and im somehow supposed to believe it’s simple wear and tear overtime? Mechanic shops around nearby are known to ripoff customers , what i mean is make them pay way more than average for a service. Labor prices per hour at this shop are through the roof. One thing you don’t want to do is come back a 2nd time for a more serious expensive repair. Oil leaks are expensive repairs . once that oil leaks onto other components it damages and ruins them making those parts unusable that simply have to get replacements. All im trying to say is this store isnt cheap and their service is great but not good on repair cost. Btw their diagnostic is $112 out the door . Until i asked they didn’t bother to mention what the extra $12.59 was for, then they said it was for topping off fluids. coming back a 2nd time then say $12 it’s for a hazmat fee for gloves/supplies used to touch the car. Dishonest! its minus $50 on the diagnostic if service done with them, otherwise. save yourself money by going to mechanic bhai in warren , same address as owl engineering .

Great experience with friendly staff. Diagnostic exam completed was very thorough and explained to me in a way I could understand. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing car on their cars

Fantastic service, friendly staff, they turn your car around very quickly. Been taking cars to them of many varieties for nearly two decades, would go nowhere else.

Went in for coolant system issues, after waiting two weeks I got my vehicle back after spending $1200. Went in a month later for a suspension issue, they proceed to tell me that there is actually MORE issues with my coolant system “they missed”. I tell them I’m only here for suspension issues, and that I’m only interested in a suspension inspection. They proceed to take a week to get my vehicle back to me, and also take it upon themselves to diagnose the brake system, the exhaust system, and the coolant system, all of which I had to pay for despite clearly saying “I’m only here for suspension issues”. Another issue is the price, they overcharge on part prices. They are fair on labor, but very greedy on part cost. They tried to charge me $126 JUST IN PART COST for two outer tie rod ends. Do they think they are producing genuine GM parts? They attempted to charge $165 for an alignment, and $265 in parts for a sway bar and links. I drive a 2000s 3800 engine series vehicle, you can go to ZZperformance and buy a PERFORMANCE RACE sway bar and links for $150. Overall this place is not worth your time, use my experience as a reason not to go. They take a long time to get your vehicle back to you, they over look or “miss” work, they will take it upon themselves to look for more repairs completely unrelated to the issue at hand, and the obscene price gouging on parts. - Above is my previous review I left, it is mostly negative and left in haste, and after thinking about it this place doesn’t deserve 1 star. R and M does good work, they can diagnose and install parts well, and the parts they choose is good. My rating stems from being quoted 4.5k for suspension, exhaust, brakes, and tire work, and after doing homework, I was able to find a mechanic that allowed me to supply my own parts, help work on my vehicle along side him to lower labor cost, and I was able to get the same work done for 2.5k. I drive a vehicle that’s 20 years old, spent all its life in Detroit, and only cost me $2500, spending 4.5k on repairs for that vehicle is not worth it, and that is my main issue with R and M. If you drive an old vehicle, a beater, or a car with a value under 20k, it is not financially worth taking your car to this mechanic, as the work cost is not propionate to the value of your vehicle. If you are the everyday driver who needs your car back quickly and affordably, I would go somewhere else. This mechanic doesn’t offer tiers for quality of parts, obviously you don’t want cheap Chinese crap in your car, but they are putting the best of the best in your car, and that means you are paying for the most expensive quality parts. If you are just looking to get your car back up and running with middle of the road parts to help keep the cost down, this is not the place. This mechanic is the type of mechanic you would go to if you wanted work done on a vehicle of pride, a showroom car, a pavement princess, or a classic. This mechanic does good work for a daily driver, but it will cost you more than it would somewhere else. My other issue is the time it takes to get your vehicle back. In my experience, you are waiting a minimum of a week to get your vehicle back, and if that’s your only vehicle then you’re out a vehicle for a week. I did have one thing happen that still concerns me. I left my vehicle with R and M for 2 weeks to get the coolant system worked on, and not once in those 2 weeks did any tech diagnose or notice the issue with the lower intake manifold gasket. Only when I brought the vehicle back did they instantly find and spot this issue. I spent $1083 on coolant work, so it is concerning that after that much being spent a leak got overlooked for 2 weeks.

Excellent shop. The only place I will go. Rich and Molly are wonderful to work with.
