Gordie's Auto & Tire - Sterling Heights

Last time I was in here it was great. This time I made the appointment for the oil change they took me and it was great. However, three months later I noticed that I had to add about a gallon of windshield wiper fluid. I definitely do not go through that much. I also noticed there’s a small screw missing where my air filter is located. The screw is in there the head of it was cut off. I was told I needed a new air filter. See pictures

We've been fans of Gordie's since they were a One Location business on Callahan in Roseville. When Gordie's was swinging wrenches and Joe was the service advisor. FF to 2026, I noticed they expanded with 3 locations, with Four in total. Metropolitan Parkway and Mound is a great location. I dropped off my 2023 Buick Rendezvous for an inspection, assessment. Why? I heard a noise, perhaps a: Tie Rod Control arm or sway bar. Steve guided me inside. Lisa was the super qualified and smart service tech write up gal. Plus she was kind & charming $99 fee for a complete inspection 🤝 Sounds fair. Later that day she called me. We have the inspection complete and repairs needed to keep it on the road, safely. 🥁 Broken sway bar Control Arms & tie rods need replacement, both wheel bearings. I paused, thanked her, told her I'd need an hour or two to process it and decide. Repair estimate: $2175 Plus the oil pan was seeping, at 5 hours labor. At 3 pm I showed up, asked if anyone there wanted to buy it for $500, no bites, no nibbles. The manager suggested to drive it into a junkyard, as cars driven in had more value. So I did. My repair bill wasn't their fault. They were candid, honest, open & fair. Lisa and Steve were and are top shelf Plus they have a free courtesy shuttle 🚀 Joe, thank you for keeping the Gordie's brand alive. I was in dire need with a fast leak on my pick up truck Tire. I am not from the area so I was a long way from home. Some of the other local tire shops would not repair it due to liability BS, but not Gordy’s. They had me pull in told me to have a seat in the waiting room and in half an hour Kevin and the team had repaired my tire with two patches, and the price was very reasonable. I was out the door and on my way, and the tire has been good since. If I am in the area and need any tire or auto service, I will definitely go back to Gordy’s to handle my needs. Their level of service is the shining difference between a corporate run business and a family run business that I prefer to go to.

I have gone to Gordie’s on and off for years. Once I started leasing I didn’t go. When a stopped leasing I returned! I have found them to be very trustworthy, excellent service and easy to work with. They saved me a lot of money when by telling I needed a repair but should be under warranty at the dealership because I wasn’t over 60 thousand miles. They now will be my go to for service if I need it! Great place!

I have been going to Gordie's for few years. I was reasonably happy. This time I was disappointed. I went in there to replace battery, which they told me in the past that I need one. The service rep told me that he will have it inspected and let me know if any other services needed. At the checkout he changed me around $79.00 for inspection. When I questioned, he said I requested it. I didn't request inspection. In a previous visit they inspected (without charge) and told me that I need a new battery in the near future. He refused to remove the charge. I'm disappointed the way the service rep.handled case.
