I brought my vehicle in because the AC was blowing hot air. I was told the system was low on refrigerant and that a leak could not be diagnosed without recharging the system. I initially paid a $37 diagnostic fee and took the vehicle back. Before leaving the parking lot, I noticed the AC service port caps had not been reinstalled and had to return to have them put back on. I later decided to proceed with the AC recharge and paid approximately $346 (including credit for the $37 diagnostic fee). After the recharge was completed, I was informed that an AC pipe was leaking and would require an estimated ~$2,151.99 repair. The AC is cooling again, however I would have appreciated a clearer explanation Since the system was known to be empty, I would have liked to understand whether pressure testing, vacuum testing, or other leak-detection methods were available before proceeding with a full recharge spending $346 on what appears to be a temporary fix.

I dropped off my car to repair multiple leaks/ issues with the AC on a Friday at about 5:45pm (they close at 6pm), I was given a quote Saturday afternoon when I finally called back, and then it was ready for pickup Monday morning at 10am. Getting the AC fixed was something I had been procrastinating on fixing for more than a few years, and I was worried I’d have to pay the $150 a second time to have the dye run through so they could find the leaks, but I did not, and they figured out the issue right away. I had previously paid $150 at a different place about 4 years ago, but forgot to go back to have them recheck where the dye was. Fortunately this place was expedient & very straightforward.
