I brought my 2002 Honda S2000 in for a transmission concern and general drivability issues, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Instead of just throwing parts at the car, he took the time to thoroughly inspect and test drive it. During the inspection he found several issues that previous shops had either missed or installed incorrectly, including improperly installed engine mounts, incorrectly installed spark plug tube seals, loose drivetrain hardware, an exhaust leak, and valves that were significantly out of adjustment. He performed a valve adjustment, replaced the engine, transmission, and differential mounts, repaired the exhaust issues, tightened loose hardware, changed the fluids, and took the time to properly road test the car afterward. What impressed me most was his honesty and attention to detail. He didn’t try to sell me a transmission rebuild when he could have easily done so. Instead, he diagnosed the issue, recommended OEM Honda transmission fluid, and explained exactly what he found and what he felt during the test drive. The difference in the car afterward was incredible. The engine is noticeably smoother, vibrations are gone, the drivetrain feels much tighter, and the transmission shifts significantly better than before. If you’re looking for someone who actually understands Hondas and takes pride in diagnosing problems correctly instead of guessing, I highly recommend him. I’ll definitely be bringing my S2000 back for future work.
