Dewey's Auto repair & Transmission

I had them fix a transmission, they said it was going to be a complete rebuilt by them and they reused broken parts. The car wasn't working properly so I brought it back for another 10 days and they Overfilled the Trans by 4 quarts, refused to work on the vehicle or to remedy the issue all after they charged me nearly 200 over price agreed. Very unprofessional, untrustworthy, disrespectful and disappointing service as they were recommended to me by a friend.

I brought my 2006, 800hp mustang to them after overwhelming personal reviews, fellow car nutz... My experiences was of utter disappointment, after catching the tech, a representation of ownership in the act of abusing my vehicle at the corner of venoy and ford, heading north from intersection...how you may ask, hiting red line limits MULTIPLE TIMES, CAR SIDEWAYS AND SMOKE FROM REAR TIRES. ALL VEHICLE INFORMATION WAS TRACKED WITH A GPS DEVICE, HIDDEN IN THE CAR. I also have a report with the GPS data, to include number of both rev limits reached and max speed. 7- times the rev limiter WAS reached , top speed during a 19.381 minute test drive 116.2 MPH. Utter abuse!!! It was also noted the maximum speed limit on public roads, within a 5 mile radius was 40mph. I immediately drove to the shop and expressed my discontent after witnessing just one of the several abuses of trust. Both owners/managers, Keith and Chuck was apologetic but that did nothing to ease my distress, nor guarantee any internal damages to the custom built motor etc. I was forced to pay the bill in full to get my car back, CASH. The shifter was indexed incorrectly and forced me to return for warranty follow up prior to the expiration of such, when the vehicle was taken out of storage in late March. While at the shop, I requested a transmission fluid and filter change, to inspect for wear or metal, a new (supplied supercharger belt from the engine builder) and a complete oil change. (6 quarts and a filter supplied). When i picked up my vehicle, the oil capacity was overfilled by a quart and the shift indexing left me stranded once parked in my driveway, moreover the paperwork (receipts stating work performed by Keith) Keith did not work my car!!! I requested, multiple times to speak to Chuck, in fact, because I no longer trusted the workmanship of a select few at the shop to correct the oil overfill, nor the tech that did the oil change, nor Keith, for he would side with his tech. I took car to their other shop on telegraph rd, hopeful to see Chuck. At that time, the shop performed an oil change at my expense, but labor was free, where it was stated "it was overfilled by a quart". To this day I have not heard from either owner nor do I think they ever cared, or they just wanted to forget. In closing, RON was the technician that built a custom transmission for the car. The transmission is rock solid and he UNEQUIVOCALLY, knows his craft and most likely is underpayed but unfortunately he works for deweys and they will never see my vehicles again due to the breach in trust...i would recommend to anyone and everyone, to verify all licenses and certifications for both the shop and its technicians are current, and up to date with training and recertifications, moreover dont let them drive your hot rod without your presence. Ironically, I was told i couldn't do a ride along, perhaps it would have saved them the embarrassment. Chuck, both shops relayed the information to call me before this point, you sir chose not to after multiple attempts of mediation. There is absolutely nothing the owners could say to defend the mechanics actions and oil capacity overfill...its inexcusable. IF I COULD I WOULD HAVE SELECTED 0 STARS ****UPDATE**** OUT OF STORAGE, A YEAR LATER... CAR STOPPED POPPED OUT OF GEAR AND LEDT ME STRANDED ON TELEGRAPH RD. MY SON DROVE ME TO A1, 3 MILES. AT THAT TIME I WAS INSTRUCTED BY TOM TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO THE TELEGRAPH "A1 TRANSMISSION SHOP". THEY WERE EVEN NICE ENOUGH TO GIVE ME A TOW COMPANY TO CONTACT. HOURS PASSED AND I WAS CONTACTED BY TOM STATING THAT THEY WILL NOT WORK ON THE CAR AND COME GET IT, PER CHUCK. NOTE, A TOW CHARGE TO LOCATION, AND A SECOND TO HAVE IT HAULED OFF THE PROPERTY WAS COSTLY. CHUCK, YOU SIR SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF PUTTING GOOD, HARD WORKING PEOPLE, TOM IN THE MIDDLE.

Chuck has been a absolutely amazing during this time. Great communication and quick service. I will go to them from here on out if car work is needed

This shop was amazing, Chuck is the MAN, he explained everything to the T. Amazing price, and my vehicle drives better then when I got it from the dealership.

Had my transmission rebuilt and it has not given me any problems. Keith the service clerk was a wonderful person, and helped me really well. Transmission service is not cheap of course but Dewey's did a excellent job on my vehicle. 2006 Buick rendezvous. Highly recommended.
