Let me just preface this by saying I'm not the best communicator, so Mike might not have understood the scope of the work needed on my car from the start. So, I've had this 2013 C250 for around a decade now. During the pandemic I got married and since I was able to work from home we got by just fine with the one vehicle. I'd known for a while that the car could use some servicing aside from the usual oil changes I took care of myself, but I couldn't be without a vehicle for an extended period so I just kept putting it off. Come mid-2025, and many Takata airbag recall letters later, that lenient work from home policy was adjusted and I needed to start commuting regularly, leaving my wife at home without a means of transportation. We purchased a second vehicle for commuting, and all was well. Unfortunately, the Mercedes developed a major oil leak; likely due to actions of the idiot servicing it (myself). At this point we decided it was time to take the car in for service, and I found Mike's shop online by looking for reputable independent service shops as I wanted to avoid the stealership mostly. The initial impression I gave to Mike over the phone was that it was a little oil leak and some routine maintenance work needing done. In the end it wound up being a full on refurbishment. The attention to detail and care he took throughout the time working with me was outstanding. The car was due for an airbag recall first off and he took care of that process for me with the dealership. After that, the focus was fixing the MAJOR oil leak which would up involving multiple different locations on the engine. Multiple seals replaced, a new oil filter housing, and a full coolant system flush to top it all off. Moving on to the rest of the car, totally unbeknownst to me, the rear subframe had severely corroded. Mike was able to identify this and let me know it was also a recall issue with Mercedes. Again, he coordinated things with the dealership to get that replaced along with his recommendation to replace springs and other components while that work was being performed. That is peace of mind, and a free alignment! If you're not exhausted reading all this by now, there's still more! Brake rotors and pads all around! A door panel replacement for a broken handle and worn out pleather, to make the interior look perfect again! Mike went through this car front to back, many times over. Above and beyond my initial ask. There's still some work to be done, but he has returned the car's condition to a great baseline along with a plan to keep it that way going forward. On top of all that, now I'll have peace of mind that my wife has reliable transportation.
