Pelkey Muffler Auto Repair

Went up to Muffler Man on nine Mile and Gratiot yesterday for them to look at my focus. It had a cracked flex pipe. They told me I would have to change the whole converter assembly plus some sensors and it would be at least 5 hours worth of labor they would need my vehicle first thing in the morning and have it all day. They gave me an estimate of $1,940. First thing this morning I took it to Pelkey Muffler a couple miles south on Gratiot. They told me it needed nothing but a new flex pipe that it would take a couple hours and gave me a quote of $380 out the door. They did a perfect job and had it done in less than an hour. My car is driving super quiet now like it's new again. What muffler Man tried to do to me is what everybody's worst nightmare is that you take your vehicle to a mechanic and they tell you it needs a bunch of stuff it doesn't need and then try to charge you double or triple for the labor on top of it. Very unscrupulous.

Terrible experience don’t go here at all. I was over charged outrageously no invoice or pricing for parts and labor. I guess they just come up with rip off pricing off the top of their heads. They told me 300$ for battery replacement and my battery tested as a good battery. Also they charge me 650 just to replace a starter that is 100$. I learned my lesson and will never go back. Don’t get ripped off like I did just a warning for other hard working people!

Quick solid work.. decent straight forward pricing. 2014 honda civic front brakes and rotors.. $250 out the door.. done in 20 mins

Pelkey was a great experience for me. They have did work on my hub bearings all around and my spindle and my axle they are very affordable and they will make sure you leave happy and satisfied
