We brought our car in to diagnose a vibration while driving and mentioned that tires might be an issue. After inspecting the car, we were told the tires were “fine” and that the only issue was front brakes, which we were charged $1,100 to replace. After picking up the car and driving on the freeway, the vibration was still present. When we called back, the mechanic’s response was essentially that they didn’t expect the car to be driven at highway speeds—something that was never discussed or disclosed beforehand. It became clear that the car was never properly test-driven to confirm the diagnosis. If the issue had been correctly identified, we either: • would not have authorized the brake replacement, or • would have expected the shop to take responsibility for a misdiagnosis rather than charging full labor. To make matters worse, we took the car to Belle Tire, where they refused to balance or rotate the tires because they were extremely bald and unsafe. They showed us the tire tread scores, which were at the lowest possible level, and advised replacement instead of taking our money. This directly contradicts what we were told by Mistor Motors Auto Shop. We also purchased this car only a few months ago and were given a full dealership inspection at that time, with no mention of brake issues, which makes the situation even more questionable. Between the incorrect diagnosis, lack of testing, dismissive response, and conflicting information from another reputable shop, this experience felt misleading and unprofessional. We would not return and would not recommend this dealership. Update: After belle tire, the car was immediately taken to the dealership (2019 Audi A6) and the car went through another thorough dealership inspection where they found the real cause was tires with irregular tread depth creating the vibration. Based on this experience, we believe this shop either lacks proper diagnostic practices or knowingly performed unnecessary repairs. We would not return and strongly caution others especially if you know absolutely nothing about cars.

I previously worked at Volkswagen/Audi as a technician for two years. I brought my 2019 Audi A6 to this shop for a simple diagnosis because I no longer have time to do the work myself. I explained that the car had a slight vibration and could be due to tires or possibly a wheel bearing, and asked them to identify the cause. They told me the issue was the front brakes. I questioned this because I didn’t believe the brakes were the problem, but they insisted the brakes were old and needed replacement. Keep in mind that two months earlier my engine had a recall and Audi replaced the entire engine block, and at that time they did not mention needing brakes. This shop charged me over $1,100 for front brakes after assuring me it would fix the vibration. I did not bring the car in for a brake issue, and replacing the brakes did NOT fix the problem. I immediately took the car to Audi, where they found the real cause was tires with irregular tread depth creating the vibration. It’s clear the shop either did not properly diagnose the problem or did not test drive the vehicle, because otherwise they would not have let the car leave with the same issue it came in with. I specifically asked them to fix the vibration, and they did not. This felt like a money grab and a terrible experience. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because I feel I was charged for unnecessary repairs while my original issue remained unresolved. Avoid at all costs.

The service here is absolutely amazing! The building is clean, you don't even realize it's a car shop and the owner so welcoming! He had our daughter's car repaired in no time. Our other daughter is away at MSU, she had her car fixed there, yet it broke down for the same reason when she came home.
