I am not from Somerville, but I was in town for the weekend. On my way to Somerville, my car almost broke down from a broken suspension. At first, I did not know what was wrong, but I knew my car wasn’t drivable. I looked up some local mechanics and stumbled upon Genes automotive. I will start off by saying that Gene answered as soon as I reached out to him and said I could bring in my car to be seen the same morning. My car was repaired by the end of the day. I was very impressed by the efficiency and the cost was very reasonable. I will definitely be coming here again if I’m ever in the area and recommending this place to anyone who needs work done on their vehicle by a trusted professional.

Went there for an alternator replacement and within a day after the battery light came back on. Went to another shop for a second opinion and they told me the alternator wasn’t working again. There is a one year warranty so they replaced it again, but they treat you like an idiot and question you a ton about “how could you know it’s the alternator” and even after i say autozone told me it’s a bad alternator or another shop did they still don’t believe you. They said it would be a couple hours fix the second time. Dropped off my car at 10:30am and wasn’t able to pick it up til after 3pm because they were still waiting for a part. They could’ve just told me to drop the car off later.
