Bay State Muffler

Baystate Muffler has always been awesome for any Muffler or emission issues!! They always give a complete diagnosis and the most reasonable resolution, and it’s often not what a general mechanic might recommend! They can also do a lot of custom work that regular mechanics cannot do to solve emission issues, and they warranty all their work! And the big bonus is they’re a short walk from Bagel World while you’re waiting!! It’s refreshing to have such a fair-minded business looking out for the best interests of their customers!!

My mechanic at Frank's Gulf (also highly recommended) recommended that I bring my car to Bay State Muffler for a special exhaust problem I was having that he couldn't fix at the time. The folks at Bay State were incredible. Setting up a consultation by e-mail was stress free and very easy to do. They let you know exactly what to expect and that you'll likely have your problem taken care of on the same day. They walk you through the problems they identify and give you an estimate before they fix it. You can sit in their waiting room while they work but I went and sat outside as it was a nice day. The ground was fine for me but the mechanics were very sweet and asked if I wanted to bring a chair outside. When the repairs were done, they also let me know another future problem I should bring up with my mechanic or dealership. They never made me feel stupid and made sure I knew what they were talking about. The guys here were kind and gentle and I felt safe and secure and that I could trust them. If I ever have specifically an exhaust problem again, I'd definitely consider going to them if my mechanic was overwhelmed that week! The shop was also very easy to get to and has a long lot of parking right off the highway. Thanks so much, Bay State Muffler! Trustworthy mechanic work is never to be taken for granted, and I'm glad to know both you and Frank's Gulf have me and my car's back.

I can’t say enough how impressed and appreciative that I came here. First off I will never buy another Hyundai because of their warranty,! It’s always months away for an appointment and today I can’t get an appointment anywhere until November for something I needed help with today! I was 💯 certain I had an exhaust leak. My car sounded horrible and Dave told me to swing by today. I was going to leave it but he said wait and he will have someone take a quick peek to see what they were dealing with. Turns out the morons that did the oil change and pushed my wife to replace the air filter, never sealed the compartment properly. Dave’s guy found it right away and it was a simple fix! I will never go ANYWHERE else and will tell EVERYONE I know about this place! They could have charged me whatever but Dave said no charge because it was a simple thing they found right away! That’s integrity and I will be loyal forever! Thank you guys so much!!!

I'm generally leery of glowing online reviews, but Bay State Muffler clearly has earned theirs. Everything I read prior to my visit bore out to true: They did only the necessary work and did not try to "up sell" me on a full muffler replacement. They took my car in right in at my scheduled appointment time, diagnosed the problem and worked quickly to fix it. By the time I finished my Bagel World lunch (pro tip: it's a short walk down Newbury Street), my car was ready to be picked up. They were clearly very busy (yet another testament to their strong reputation), yet I was able to book an appointment within two days, which was about three weeks earlier than the dealership (which I suspect may have tried to convince me I needed more extensive -- and expensive -- work). I hope I don't needed exhaust system repairs too often (no offense, guys), but it's good to know that I have a place to go if I do.

These guys are the balls man! Struggled for a month trying to find down pipe converter for my 02 B3000 because they dont make them anymore. Gave these guys a call they MADE A CUSTOM FIT IN LITERALLY A ONE DAY TURN AROUND! I am still blown away at the quality craftsmanship and how quick the turn around was i dropped it off and picked it up next day ready to go. Pricing was amazing the most affordable ive ever seen for this kind of work.I will be using these guys and there team for everything going forward and i will always recommend them to anyone who asks! 100/100 !
