Yost Auto Service

It was time for my scheduled maintenance on my 2024 Outlander. After multiple appointments had been cancelled, without any explanation, from Family Mitsubishi, I searched for a place to take care of my vehicle. After reading reviews, I decided on Yost. From my very first contact with them, I was treated so well and like a valued customer. They listened to me and explained things without being condescending. Everyone was so kind, friendly and professional. I had the best experience there and they put my mind at ease. Prices were fair and the quality of work is excellent. This was the complete opposite experience that I have when dealing with Family Mitsubishi for ANYTHING. For those of you needing service on your Mitsubishi because Family Mitsubishi won’t take service appointments for some reason, give Yost a call. You will not be disappointed I could really go on and on but I’ll just say Yost will take care of you and your vehicle.

I had a great experience at Yost and I am very happy with the service I received. They never made me feel pressured and answered all of my questions so I could make informed decisions about the repairs. One thing that meant a lot to me was how patient and understanding the staff was with my hearing loss. They took the time to communicate clearly, made sure I understood everything, and never made me feel rushed. That kindness and respect made the entire experience much less stressful. The repairs were completed professionally, and I left feeling confident that my car was in good hands. It's not easy to find an auto repair shop that combines quality work with genuine customer care, but Yost definitely does. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest, knowledgeable, and compassionate service.

Yost used to be great but recently has gone downhill. I took my car in for a diagnostic because they advised me that "car scanners aren't reliable" and that they should do a full examination. This cost $120 and they proceeded to quote me for $4,000 of additional maintenance (on a car that's worth about $5,000 for reference). I work on my car 90% of the time, and can confirm that over half of the quote was parts I had recently replaced myself and knew they had nearly 50,000 more miles on them before needing done. They told me the thermostat needed replaced (exactly what the scan already said for free from Autozone), which was ~$1,000. My dad and I got fed up and decided to replace the part ourselves, and in the process found out that the problem was the reservoir hose and NOT the thermostat. This hose is on the top of the engine, clearly visible, right underneath the cover. In other words, Yost DIDN'T EVEN LOOK UNDER THE ENGINE COVER when they did the examination, so that $1,000 quote was completely misdiagnosed, and should've been a short $40 hose replacement instead. Long story short, my dad and I decided to just go ham and replace the thermostat, junction hose, and resevoir hose over the weekend just for the heck of it, flushed and replaced all fluids, and it cost us around $250 all-in instead. My quote for this work from Yost was around $2,000, with an additional $2,000 of replacing parts that were practically still new. Used to love Yost back in the 2020-2024 range which is why we'd go there for big tasks that my dad and I didn't have time for, but unfortunately they seem to just scam people like most mechanics now. I have 3 friends who also had similar experiences within the last year, so it seems to be a recurring issue ever since around 2025.

We have had Yost work on our cars for 14 years with exceptional service each time. I could go on and on about the blessing of finding a reliable and honest auto service shop in Wichita, but let me tell you about our most recent service on 4/15/26. We had the rear brakes on our Subaru Outback changed by Yost a little over a year ago. Unfortunately, the brake pads wore out prematurely, and Yost honored the yearlong warranty (it was a little over a year since the original service) and replaced the pads and the rotors at no charge. We are thrilled that they stand behind their work - and did so cheerfully. Need a great service shop you can count on to do the work that is truly needed? You won't be disappointed with Yost!

I just brought my truck in for an oil change this past Friday. All seemed ok until I noticed that after, I’ve had significant leaks coming from under the hood that I’m certain weren’t there prior. I got a follow up estimate after I left saying I needed oil pan change for over 1k but again, this leak was 100% not showing like this prior to my oil change so this type of thing is concerning to me. Some of the conversations I heard also were concerning while I was waiting. I’ve just texted the Yost number today looking forward to resolution. I’m not sure the service or trust is there I had years ago after something like this. Brian
