Normally my go-to place when I need a repair. Well I took a vehicle I just bought there for a suspected blown head gasket. I just wanted diagnostics to confirm my suspicions. They call me back and say your thermostat was sticking, thats going to fix the issue. $350 later and they think its a bad fin on the water pump. Also the thermostat wasn't even in there "so someone has been in there before" was what i was told. (This contradicts the previous statement if you hadn't noticed about it sticking) I asked if they did a leak down or a compression test. They said no because that would require removing a spark plug and that has nothing to do with the cooling system. With those words I have completely lost faith in the competency of that shop. There are 4 tests to test for a blown head gasket that are routine diagnostics. Leak down, compression test, block test (which is a chemical test to see if CO2 is in the coolant), and a coolant system pressure test. Im no certified mechanic but I have been turning wrenches for many years so im no idiot. I will not be going back to tracys again. I hope others have better luck. Just figured id share my most recent experience.

Tracy’s has been my go-to for maintenance the last few years. I’ve had my tires replaced, oil changed, and a few small repairs. They’ve provided accurate quotes, clear communication when they spot a reason to change plans, and a fast turn-around when I need it. Their location is also great for walking to some other errands or a nice place to eat and relax.
