B & D Import Car Repair

Ben is one of the few people I'd let work on my cars if I can't do it myself. He recently converted my E30 M3 race car back to power steering and R&R the rod bearings. He went FAR above and beyond the norm, and determined that there was a problem with my oil pump, by correcting that, he saved the new bearings, and saved me from probably a 20K to 25K purchase and rebuild of a fresh engine. He's worked on my E28 M6, E34 MSport/6, E30 Z1 for me, and its always been prompt, affordable, and extremely well done. I've sent a lot of people his way, he's been helping me since... omg... 1996. 30 years of GREAT service. There isn't a thing automotive I wouldn't trust him to do.

After 19 years of BMW ownership, I go there FIRST with all issues. Ben (and his father) are savants. Competitive prices, honest appraisals, valuable advice, and good turn-around time all make this shop the BEST for BMW servicing. Especially older machines. My X3 has 218k miles and runs like new because of B&D.

Ben is an amazing mechanic and an honest guy. It is getting harder and harder to find people like that.

Are they still in business? Is the number listed here correct? I have been trying to reach them for over a week to no avail. *Update* So I finally got in touch with Ben, the principle/owner and I am upgrading my rating. Please understand that this is not your typical business by any means. There is no name on the place, no receptionist or waiting area or anything of the sort. It's just a garage. Ben only answers the phone when he's there (no VM), and that with a simple "hello?". That said, this is quite possibly the BEST BMW/Mini repair shop in the United States of America. If your vehicle is under warranty and you don't have to pay, take it to the dealer if you must. For all other BMW or Mini work, go to B&D. No matter the year, make or model of your car/SUV, Ben's expertise of the BMW product is unmatched. He will correctly diagnose your problem, repair it with precision and all at a price that the dealer couldn't touch with a 10ft pole (he's affordable). The downside to this equation is that at times, Ben can be virtually impossible to reach for long periods of time. So if you need your vehicle repaired during one of these periods, you're out of luck.

My first car was a 1997 BMW 328i and Ben was able to let me drive that as long as I did, the car made multiple trips to and from New York. I used to work for an auto insurance company as well and he is the best kind of person you want fixing your car, he is honest about the work that needs to be done and will not try to sell you on anything else, great competitive prices!
