I trust this Automotive location. The first time I went was 6 months ago my Jeep was leaking oil. They found the issue, ordered the part and it was a reasonable price. After it was mis-diagnosed by a neighboring company sharing the same lot. When I returned again with a different problem (they haven't seen before) they found the part, after searching the Chicagoland Area. Replaced it, gave a 6 month warranty and the final cost was less than what Goggle suggested by $400.00. If you need a really good Mechanic please try this company.

I own 3 old Subaru cars and GTA has helped identify and fix multiple issues on my 2017 and 2012 Outback; they correctly diagnose the issue and repair at a reasonable price; they fixed the brakes on my 2020 Forester ; there is no upselling and the job is always done in a timely manner. I would recommend this repair shop.

I took my 2011 Hyundai Veracruz to this shop with the hope of getting a full repair after a head gasket failure. Before authorizing any work, I had multiple consultations with both Tom (the owner) and Marty (the mechanic). I asked direct questions about whether the car was repairable, if they accepted outside parts, and whether a used or new engine would be a better option. I was told: • No outside parts were accepted, • A replacement engine would be more expensive, • The car was repairable and worth fixing, • And they could complete the work. The repair cost totaled approximately $4,500, not including an additional $875 in towing fees I have incurred because of repeated vehicle failures. Continued Vehicle Breakdowns & Safety Risks Despite assurances, since the so-called “repair” I’ve had to return my vehicle 4 to 5 times in the past 4 months due to the engine shutting off while driving. These breakdowns happen about every two weeks, often on major highways like I-290 and I-294. • On Memorial Day 2025, I lost acceleration on the expressway. • Just last week, the engine light came on, and the vehicle shut down completely again—while I was driving. • I was told the issues was “transmission fluid overheating, and air-condition needed recharge, but these repeated breakdowns point to poor workmanship or misdiagnosis. I was told the transmission fluid overheated, but these recurring issues raise serious doubts about whether the job was done correctly from the beginning. To make matters worse, I have not received one phone call or update from Tom or anyone at GTA Automotive despite repeated attempts to follow up. Additional Alarming Issues: • As of July 1, 2025, my vehicle is still located at GTA Automotive Inc., and I have received no communication or resolution from the shop. • Tom drove my vehicle to an emissions testing site without my knowledge or permission. This unauthorized use of my vehicle is completely unacceptable and unethical. • Tom continuously referred to my car as "too old" to guarantee repair results, despite having agreed to take on the repair and assuring me it was fixable. • My questions were frequently belittled or dismissed as “not important.” • I was talked down to, made to feel as though I lacked basic understanding, and subjected to a condescending, dismissive tone. • When I pressed for clarification, I was met with frustration, stonewalling, and comments implying that I should not be questioning their expertise. • I strongly believe that I was intimidated and treated this way because I am a woman. This behavior is unacceptable in any professional setting and only adds emotional distress to an already costly and dangerous situation. They definitely need to work on their professionalism and more.

I've had nothing but an excellent experience with GTA on the multiple times Tom and Marty have worked on my car over the years. (2021-2025) Rarely will you find a Good AND Honest mechanic; a Good mechanic will get your car back on the road while giving you every excuse to charge you as much as they can, an Honest mechanic will shoot you straight about the repair but charge you an arm and a leg. In my opinion, the guys at GTA Automotive are both Good AND Honest: I've never felt I was being overcharged or taken advantage of; they are great guys that do great work! Ever since finding them, I've never taken my car (2011 Chevy Equinox) anywhere else. In my past 4 years living in Tinley Park, they are the only mechanics I've trusted my car to and I always will.

Nonresponsive. Called several times to get quote on services and no one answered. When I stopped in no one was in office. Young mechanic saw me walk in and made me wait after I finally stuck my head through the door. Then after explaining to him what I needed he tells me I had to wait for the owner to get back and he didn't have a time. Said to call or stop back. Tried calling again after 2 hrs and again no one answered. I don't understand why only one person can give a quote or a price. Think they need to have someone at their front desk answering phone and having the knowledge to be able to look prices up. Just moved to area and ended up taking it to another shop after talking to friend who informed they had their car serviced there and ended up taking it to the dealer who had to repair the work they done on car. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise.
