Velasquez & Son's Mufflers

Attention all my south suburban neighbors and friends please be careful or avoid taking your vehicle to Velasquez mufflers and brakes at 16200 A Halsted. I towed my vehicle there to get a full diagnosis and get work done and had it towed with a flatbed from Aaa and I met them there. I was quoted 540 for alternator with part and a diagnostic of 40$ total 580$. Upon picking up my car I was advised my key was misplaced ?!! And I saw substantial damage to my hood of my trunk that wasn’t there ? My first question was what happened the manager couldn’t provide insight so I made a police report …I couldn’t even drive my car off lot it broke down as I attempted to drive and I paid over 500$ Anna was rude and I was never given the full diagnostic of my car I am towing my car to body shop and will sue please avoid so this doesn’t happen to you. There racist and rude were nice until I discovered my car still wasn't drivable and I paid for a diagnostic test they originally told me came back normal with no codes, but attempted to type paperwork with codes up when my car wasn't drivable claiming I was notified more work needed to be done. So Im out of money, car damaged and made to pay for damages I didn't cause, Terrible. terrible, terrible.

I bought my car in on a Wednesday for a gas leak and was charged $150 for an inspection which i didnt care because I was told it would go toward the repair. I was contacted later that day and was told it was a gas leak and it shouldn't be much of a problem. The next day comes around and I didnt receive a call so I called for and update then they proceed to give me a quote for $1200. I then drove up there in another car to see what the problem was. Come to find out they cut the fuel pump lines and told me now I needed a fuel pump for $400 and 2 gas lines $100 apiece plus $600 in labor. So I said I would just buy my own parts and bring them so they can complete the job. 2 days later, the parts arrived and I bought them up there 8:15am on a Saturday. The whole day transpired and the car was even touch ed. They claimed to have been busy the whole day and they couldn't get to it til monday.i sit up there for 3 hours til they closed and they only serviced 2 cars woth a staff of 5. I was charged $150 for them taking down my gas tank, destroying my fuel pump and gas lines and being met with rude people with condescending statements. Save your money! They will always lie to you to upcharge you on their service, saying you need stuff you dont need! You have been warned ⚠️ . I should've learned my lesson for when they charged me $700 for for brakes pad and a caliper for a Tahoe

They put a after market part on my car and it wasn’t the right one so my car is still reading a engine code and after paying full price for service they told me if they can’t get it right then I will receive half of my money back and will still have to get it done by the dealer which is a inconvenience because I was trying to avoid them and still have to go there after paying these people already when they should’ve fixed it! Totally unacceptable smh

Perfect needed my exhaust back closed up had a very loud and rowdy exhaust leak they did everything that needed to be done the right way I do recommend coming here and I will be back only 4 starts because he tried charging me 220

I had a alternator replaced at this location. And they charged me $400.00 to have this done. I ran my air conditioner on a hot day and my car started sounding loud and the best way I can describe it what I was feeling is that it was making a hard pulling sound. Come to find out they put a very low voltage alternator. Some junk for $ 400.00. Don't TAKE YOU VEHICLES TO THIS SHOP. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!
