Mavis Tires & Brakes

I recently brought my car to Mavis Tires & Brakes because I had a screw in my rear tire. The store manager Abel, was fantastic and provided excellent customer service from start to finish. The entire process was quick, professional, and hassle-free. They did a great job patching my tire, and I was back on the road in no time. It’s refreshing to find a team that is both knowledgeable and customer-focused. I highly recommend Mavis Tires & Brakes for their outstanding service and quality work!

I absolutely would not recommend using Mavis tires and Brakes for anything. Especially the location in Mundelein, Il on RTE 60. I recently took my vehicle there for brakes and have a very negative experience. 1-Waited three hours to get my brakes checked and diagnose the issues with them, even thought I had an appointment. 2-Was told that the brake pads on my front brakes were 90% gone and the back brake pads were 99% gone and that my rotors were all chewed up and my calipers were seizing up on me. I am nowhere near a car expert, but I know enough to know that this didn't seem right as the brake pads were not scrapping the rotors and the back brakes seemed to be working fin. They then proceeded to tell that I could get them all fixed and repaired that day for $1500, but it would take at least another three hours. At that point I decided to tell them to forget and I left. 3- I took to the local neighborhood mechanic who informed me that the front brakes definitely needed replacing but the back brakes were in great shape and there was absolutely no need to replace the back brake pads. Furthermore, the calipers were not seizing, and the rotors were not chewed up as the "mechanics" at Mavis in Mundelein had stated. So, this leads me to one of two conclusions. Either the mechanics at Mavis in Mundelein do not understand what they are doing and are looking at when diagnosing issues or they are not trustworthy and are looking to scare you that your car is in bad shape and that you got to make repairs ASAP. Bottom line, I won't be returning there, and I highly recommend that you don't go to the Mavis in Mundelein, Il on RTE 60 either.

Great customer service! I bought a new tire from Mavis and they installed it for me about 10 days ago, and got a nail in my new tire yesterday 😩. Called them not yet knowing there was a nail in my tire and they said to just come back in. Found it was a nail, patched it, made sure it wasn’t leaking, all in under 15 minutes AND didn’t charge me. So nice of them. They totally could have charged me for a patch because it’s not their fault a nail stuck in my tire, so I tipped the mechanic because I felt it was the right thing to do. Thanks soooo very much Mavis! Love you guys but hope not to see you for a while 😜

Made an appointment at week in advance for a wheel alignment. Day comes, I'm 10 minutes early, should've been 30 because they had a customer complaining about quotes she got online that the shop wasn't upholding in person. Anyway, I had brought 4 brand new tires and told the receptionist if aside from the alignment if they could install the tires, he said yes. 2 and a half hours later they tell me my car is ready, the receptionist asks a worker if they did an alignment on my car and they said no, it took 2 and a half hours for FOUR TIRES?! thats crazy. They're lazy,unprofessional, and they try and gaslight me saying its because of my lugnuts being worn..fresh new lugnuts I got 6 months ago. They really tried the most basic excuse. Don't come here. Its shit. 100 dollars for 4 tires, I only wanted the tires changed here cus I was already here for the alignment, I could've gone to a mom and pop shop and had them change my tires for half the price. And to top it off, the air pressure in all tires were all over the place LMAOOO

I’m giving 4 stars specifically for a mechanic named ABEL at the store. He was very kind. I took my car to two mechanics before him and he was the only one to figure out issue with my car. The store doesn’t charge an arm and leg either. However, the only reason I took away 1 star is because they do have a front desk girl who has a TERRIBLE attitude for absolutely no reason. I don’t know her name but she was very rude. When I got to the store she told me to wait 30 min for assistance. She didn’t ask for anything else so I sat down. Abel then came out and I’m not sure if he asked her why I was still waiting half an hour but she suddenly said “excuse me! excuse me ma’am we need your name number break receipts. Come on. Like we need that stuff to get you started” with the rudest tone. Then she told Abel that she didn’t assist me because I was on the phone. Mind you, I was on the phone for about 2 minutes out of the 30 minutes I was sitting in her face. She never asked me for anything while I was sitting there in her face for 30 minutes. And then another female customer came in and asked for air in her tires and the front desk girl was talking crap about that customer as well saying rude things because the customer didn’t know how to put air in her tires. It’s literally a tire shop why shouldn’t she ask for help? Nevertheless, I will be coming here again for Abel and appreciate his assistance.
