Brought my car in due too overheating They told it was a blown head gasket n looking at 2400 with repairs done so I went too get a second opinion and was told it was a bad Radiator So I got it fix right there n then for $550 So basically azteca tried too scam me out of hundreds of dollars So be careful with this shop on 47th There shady shady!

I am beyond disappointed. They had me going back & forth all for a freaking receipt and the diagnostics of my car. I took it to the shop, I came in and only the mechanic was there. I wasn't able to give me a receipt at the moment I paid. He told me to come in the next day, and he was going to call me. They never did. I called them & told me I could pick it up. I came in and turned out their computer wasn't working. The front desk guy tells me he could go to the other shop and have it ready within 10 mins, and I could come pick it up. I told him that what was fine and that I would be back within an hour or so, given I had other errands to do. I came back, and the front desk guy wasn't even there. The mechanic told me to head to another shop so they could print me a receipt & diagnostics. Get there, and they weren't able to print but rather send it via text. I see the diagnostics were not included in the receipt, just as I had requested. They're trying to get a hold of the mechanic who did the job. He isn't answering. They had the audacity to tell if I wanted to go back to the original shop. At this point, I was very upset that they had me going back and forth. I refused and told them I was going to sit there and wait for them to give me what I had already paid for. This got way out of hand, all for a receipt and diagnostics for a service I had already paid for. I understand that there's technical issues all the time, but the fact they had me going back and forth. I felt like they were playing a practical joke on me. This was not okay.

Absolutely Do Not Recommend – Worst Auto Repair Experience of My Life I had a truly terrible experience with Azteca Auto Repair at both their 47th Street and Archer locations. What started as a repair estimate turned into a drawn-out nightmare that cost me over $1,000 in rental fees, countless hours of frustration, and left my vehicle in worse condition than when I brought it in. Timeline of Issues: • Saturday, 05/17/25: I visited for an estimate. Liked the price and approved the job the same day. I was told the part would arrive by Tuesday. • Tuesday, 05/20/25: I arrived at 8 AM as instructed—no one showed up until 9 AM. I left the vehicle. • Wednesday, 05/21/25: I followed up and was told the part hadn't arrived, and no work had been done. Still, they promised completion by Friday, so I rented a car (over $500). • Later Wednesday: They asked to move my car to the Archer location due to "space issues." I agreed. • Thursday, 05/22/25: I was told the part was disassembled and ready for installation. • Friday, 05/23/25: No one answered my calls. Finally reached someone at Archer who admitted my car was just being worked on “whenever they had time”—and had not even been disassembled. Unacceptable. • A manager said she’d talk to the owner. Later she called back, saying the owner had approved weekend work. • Saturday, 05/24/25: Told the car would be done by 4 PM. I called—still not ready, new date was Monday, 05/26 (Labor Day). • I had to extend my car rental again at more cost. I finally got the car on Monday, but immediately noticed serious problems. Post-“Repair” Problems: • While driving to return the rental, the car began shaking, and the lights dimmed. • Tuesday, 05/27: Engine and battery lights came on. Returned to 47th location. They said it was an engine temperature sensor issue and tried to charge me $300. After arguing, they agreed to cover it. • Wednesday, 05/28: Showed up—part had not arrived, and no one had called me. • New codes pointed to issues with the battery, alternator, or engine communication. I was told it "might be the alternator." • Thursday, 05/29: My car stopped running completely. I had to have it towed to another shop. • That mechanic confirmed that Azteca had reinstalled the alternator incorrectly, causing the failure. More Delays & Broken Promises: • Friday, 05/30: Azteca called—still no update on parts. I requested a follow-up call at 1 PM. No call. • Saturday, 05/31: They finally replaced the sensors. I drove home and immediately got dashboard warning lights. I texted them with no reply. • Monday, 06/02: Mechanic found another issue and fixed it—but by the time I got to work, the engine light came back on. I returned. • The scan showed the same codes. The mechanic then told me I had internal engine issues and that I now needed a new engine—$8,000. Summary of My Experience: • 🚫 Poor communication – Repeated failures to call back or provide updates • ⏳ Constant delays – Excuses, broken timelines, and unnecessary waiting • ❌ False promises – I was misled repeatedly about the status of my car • 🤥 Misinformation – Conflicting explanations from different employees • 🚗 Car returned in worse condition – My vehicle had no electrical issues before this • 💸 $1,000+ in rental car fees – Plus towing and additional repair expenses • 🛑 Zero accountability – I was never able to speak directly with the owner despite many requests ________________________________________ I’ve been extremely patient, but I can’t stay silent. Azteca not only failed to deliver on a repair, but their negligence directly caused additional damage to my car and major financial stress. And despite all of this, no one has taken ownership of what happened. If you value your time, your money, and your vehicle, stay far away from this shop. I will be filing a formal complaint with the BBB and Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division.

Great service! Cristian was very kind and transparent! Coming into the shop I was hoping they didn’t take advantage of me being a woman. But Cristian was honest and fair with prices. They have gain a new customer for years to come! Highly recommend
