DF Tire Shop

I was recommended to DF Auto for car repair and brought my vehicle in on January 8, 2026, due to a whistling noise when braking. After their evaluation, I was told I needed front brakes, front rotors, and both driver and passenger control arms, totaling $1,250. I approved the service and it was completed that same day. Two days later, my car was still making the exact same whistling noise. I contacted Claudia to inform her of the ongoing issue and brought the car back for inspection. Now I was told I needed my rear brakes replaced for an additional $450. She explained that the rear brakes had "crystallized," which was causing the noise. I was absolutely infuriated. If the rear brakes were the problem all along, why did I just spend $1,250 on front brake work? The lack of proper diagnosis meant the original issue was never addressed. I felt misled and lost trust in their ability to accurately identify problems. I declined the additional service of replacing the rear brakes. I'm beyond disappointed that I spent $1,250.00 expecting my issue to be resolved, only to be told I need more work. The transparency and honesty I expected from DF Auto Repair were completely lacking. This felt like a money grab, plain and simple. Other Details to Note: DF Auto has three locations: Maywood (6th and Lake), Melrose Park (15th and Lake) Hillside (Butterfield) DF Auto only accept cash or Zelle—no credit cards. When I asked why, I was told it's because customers dispute charges. In hindsight, I understand why that might happen given my experience with their service quality I would not recommend DF Auto.

This place is AMAZING! Great customer service, great prices, and just straight good people. I definitely will always be here for all my exhaust, tire needs, and everyone should do the same for sure. I promise you won't regret it. The bellwood location is my favorite.

Started out being the shop to go to until they showed their true colors. I got $1100+ work done on my truck, one being my power steering. It had a huge leak in it. They supposedly fixed it, but a year later, the leak is even bigger. I took my truck back to the shop for them to call and tell me I need a whole new power steering cooler system. WHAT??? That’s why I paid the $1100+ to make sure everything was fixed and not just patched and covered up which is what they did. I called and asked if they can pull up my receipt, I gave them the month and year it was there and they stated that it will take too long to find since all receipts are written down. I kept pressing for the receipt for them to call back less then five minutes saying there’s no record of it and rushed me off the phone. Smh. They want to charge me $490 including labor!!! HOLIDAY SCAM

I called about my brakes squealing, and they got me in the same day, got the work done the same day, and for a very good price. They did front and back pads and front rotors for less than what I've paid for pads alone in the city. Everyone was also extremely nice. They even offered to give me a ride home when I dropped it off, and to come pick me up when it was done. Really, really happy all around

I have been taking my car here for a year now. I will say from the receptionist to mechanics it's always a great atmosphere and they're always professional. They are very reasonable might i add
