Sta-Rite Transmission

After limping in my truck from a 1600+ mile journey I was worried that I might be making a trip to the dealership to buy a new vehicle. I suspected it was a transmission. Did some research and found Sta-Rite would be my best bet on a fair shake deal. Coming from South Florida, where everybody is a greasy swindler, I was very wary to take my vehicle in for maintenance. That was put to ease real quick. I spoke with a woman at least five times but I can’t remember her name. She had my vehicle lined up for diagnostic within 24 hours. The results came in and they still wanted to have a second look so we sat another day out and let the mechanics go to work. It was looking like we could do a rebuild or a complete replacement. After the second look in some codes, determined it was a much simpler fix. This is saving me thousands of dollars. After just paying thousands of dollars to move across the country, I can’t even express how important this is. A fantastic woman gave me a recommendation of a local mechanic nearby my house to do the fix for literally pennies on the dollar. Business is all about trust and you can trust these people. They literally could’ve took me for a whole new transmission. Welcome HOME to Iowa!!!

Car wouldn’t leave neutral so I walked to the corner tranny shop which was sta-rite and they were extremely helpful getting my car into gear and on the road until the part they had ordered for me had been delivered. They threw me in and worked on my car for about 30mins right away! Didn’t even ask me to pay 🙏🏾😭 Would highly recommend if needing emergency help! Grandma so was sweet and cannot wait to go back Monday for my full fix and visit sweet pea again 🙏🏾🥹 they are an absolutely amazing family owned business!

I highly recommend Sta-Rite transmission. They have always been fair and honest. I've had several cars and trucks handled by them and every time they deliver. I'll share one of my experience with them. I dropped off a 05 Chevy diesel because the transmission was acting up with not shifting and getting hot. I was called the next day saying my truck was ready. Very confused I said what was the problem? Austin said bring a new battery with you one of them is bad and needs replaced. I feel most but not all shops would of taken advantage of that situation and sold me a new or rebuilt transmission.

VERY satisfied with my experience at Sta-Rite! I had my truck in Des Moines for a meeting and the Transmission decided to die. Torque converter failed. They were pretty backed up and told me it would be 2-6 weeks to rebuild my transmission, and I was totally okay with that, knowing how hard it is to get good help. They were one of four transmission shops in Des Moines area recommended to me. They under promised and over delivered! They looked over everything from the engine back and had it done in just over a week! My truck is running great and comes with a fair warranty as well. Absolutely one of the best experiences I've had with a business in the automotive service industry. All of the qualities mentioned in other reviews are spot on. Knowledgeable, great communication, upbeat, looks for the lowest cost remedies first, efficient. Pricing is very reasonable. Can't say enough good about Austin and his staff.
