View on GoogleI have a 2001 Ford F250 PU that I don't use very often. The transmission needed to be rebuilt so I took it here after a referral and was told that if I paid extra for a transmission cooler and for a solenoid shift pack, it would have a one year warranty. One day before I was taking it out of town, I noticed transmission fluid on the ground and took it back. They told me the cheap cork gaskets often leak and they would replace it with another gasket. On the way back from this trip, I noticed smoke coming out from under my vehicle and pulled off the exit to find transmission fluid leaking. It was late at night and after checking the level which showed full I made it back home ok with no more problems. I took it by Atlanta Transmission again and they said they must have overfilled it and it blew out the excess fluid. I didn't drive the truck much for months and on my next trip out of town, the transmission jumped out of overdrive and the overdrive light started flashing. I called them and told them what it was doing. He asked me if the warranty had expired and I told him it did. He then told me that he used a cheaper aftermarket solenoid and he probably should have used a OEM solenoid shift pack. He then told me the good solenoid shift packs costs about $350.00 and he would charge me for the replacement shift pack and $175.00 labor. Thus from their own admission, they are using cheaper aftermarket parts. My original transmission lasted 17 years and just a little over one year, I am having to spend more money. I am sure this transmission will not last 17 years and that I will probably have to have it rebuilt in just a few years. I didn't pay thousands of dollars for a transmission just to last through the warranty period. I wish they had left in my original OEM solenoid shift pack as it would have been better that the cheaper aftermarket one they installed.
