I’ve been a loyal customer since moving to Georgia in 2009. The Suwanee location was always my go-to shop because it was close to home. After moving, I started using the new Buford location, and the experience has been just as outstanding. The people are amazing, the mechanics are knowledgeable, and the customer service is second to none. JAR truly looks out for their customers and takes the time to make sure the job is done right. Their team is highly skilled when it comes to vehicle maintenance and repairs, and I trust them completely with my vehicles. No matter what, JAR will always be my first choice for automotive service. I saw that their sign says dealer alternative and I agree that is what this place is. I worked with Patrick to get my Lexus Gx470 some new lower control arms and he was very knowledgeable and could speak to previous repairs on this platform that he had done. I’m very busy and he handled everything for me remotely, including getting me quotes quickly, which was a huge help. I found the pricing fair and he got it done for me within one day so I didn’t need to find alternative transportation for long. I drove about 40 minutes out of my way to go to this shop and I’ll be doing that for all future repairs based on the experience i had today.

Took my vehicle in a few months back after getting turned away from other shops who didn’t want to work on an older Toyota. Patrick helped get my car looked at and kept me informed about what was needed, recommended, and things to keep an eye on in the future. Quick turnaround and updates along the way were very appreciated. Great staff, great techs, clean waiting room. Would highly recommend this business. Been a few months since service and have experienced no issues.

I brought my Toyota Prius in for what initially appeared to be a head gasket issue. After inspection, the shop determined that the engine block was cracked and recommended a full engine replacement. We agreed to proceed with installing a used engine. Within two days of getting the car back, the replacement engine failed while driving on the highway. This required us to pay approximately $200 for towing back to the shop, in addition to the significant cost already incurred for the engine replacement. The used engine was under warranty, and the shop sourced another engine, although it had higher mileage than the first. After the second engine installation, I noticed that the Hybrid System warning light came on the following day, requiring us to have to return to the shop again. During this visit, I also had to have them clean up grease that had been left on the driver side door armrest from the second engine replacement. The shop kept the vehicle for several days, performed diagnostics, and advised that the warning light issue had been resolved. However, when I picked up the car, the same warning light was still on. I returned the vehicle right away, and no clear explanation was provided to me as to why the issue had been marked as resolved when it clearly wasn't. At this point, the vehicle had been in the shop four separate times and for over a month total. After further diagnosis, the shop concluded that the alternator needed to be replaced, which was another very costly repair. This diagnosis was presented after the prior assurance that the vehicle was functioning properly. Due to the repeated issues, multiple return visits, and evolving diagnoses, I decided to seek a second opinion from a Toyota dealership. The dealership ended up completing the alternator replacement at a cost approximately $600 lower than the quote I received from this shop. Overall, the repeated failures, extended downtime, and changing diagnoses made this a frustrating and costly experience, and I would not return.
