Chubby’s Automotive in Sylmar brought my car back from two years of frustration and disappointment. Our ’41 (Sweet November) had bounced between a couple of shops, with promises that never panned out and issues that were never truly fixed. It wasn’t until we took the ‘41 to Chubby’s that things changed. He found the real problems, fixed them correctly, and did it without trying to nickel-and-dime us. Lately there’s been a rise in social media posts about shops keeping cars for months or years, or constantly asking for more money in pieces. That was NOT the case here. Chubby represents the heart of the Bomb community: honest work, fair pricing, and a real focus on getting your ride back on the boulevard. When my wife and I picked up Sweet November, we were nervous to drive after everything we’d been through. A few blocks in, we could feel the difference. The car finally rode the way it was meant to. Huge thanks to Chubby and his son for their expertise, honesty, and care. They did what others couldn’t. Btw, I know this review is focused on a classic, but in this industry it’s easy to get taken advantage of when you have to rely on someone else’s expertise. A true master mechanic (like Chubby) can bring ANY ride back to where it belongs.

The final work came in significantly under their estimate, and they even changed the oil and got it washed. Above all, they were patient and easy to talk to.
