Bob was the master mechanic for a weather rare car. 1999 3000gt. Only 50,000 made for 1999. Immediately Bob knew there was a bolt missing on a clutch line bracket. I know because I worked on the car and forgot to put the bolt back. He replaced master and slave. And performed complicated bleeding. Also updated brakes and recharged AC. But! Most impressive was his 20 min test drive. That's the sign of pride in one's work. In a perfect world, Bob would be in charge of teaching all new mechanics. Thanks brakeland. Thanks Bob.

Bob is a great mechanic — he really knows his stuff when it comes to foreign vehicles and does a great job explaining everything clearly. My issue was more with the communication from Mike. He told me the diagnostic fee would be “only $50 for me,” but the final invoice still reflected the full $180 hourly rate. He also said the labor rate would be $150/hour “for me,” yet the invoice listed $180/hour. To be fair, the final total (outside of taxes and some extra coolant) matched what was discussed — and I have no issue paying for work that’s necessary and done quickly. I just appreciate transparency, and the way pricing was presented felt inconsistent. I was in a rush to get my car back, so I moved forward despite the red flags. My advice: ask for all pricing in writing before agreeing to any work.
