Have been bringing my BMWs to Bavaria for years now--and I have brought them everything: Diesels, EVs (i3, i4 ,i8) and the various //M cars that I have owned. Their diagnostic skills exceed even the dealerships. No middleman service advisor between myself and the technician. I get all of my information on whatever the car needs straight from the technician at the shop. Did I mention they do rebuilds? Pick your BMW engine and they can bench rebuild it. M20, S63, M57, N54/55, N20/26--and these are just a few of the engines that they have rebuilt or machined for me. Dealerships have never been this specialized nor have franchise BMW dealerships ever contained the wealth of information on so many models as you will find, here. It goes without saying that their prices are less than a BMW dealership and they guarantee/warranty their work and they have always been accommodating.

Bawaria has been great, they communicate amazingly and have amazing prices! Kirk is the shop owner and he’s very humble and easy to work with. I have a BMW 335is that has some slight modifications and Kirk didn’t hesitate to take on the job to replace the motor, most shops didn’t even want to touch it and the ones that did charged an arm and a leg and weren’t very communicative. Just to start I would like to say this business has held up to a high standard of taking care of the client, honesty, and integrity even when its not always easy to do. That being said, thank you Kirk for taking care of us under very abnormal circumstances. Here is our story; We own a 10 bay German Only repair shop in the San Diego area and had the unfortunate situation after replacing a cylinder head on a 2020 Mercedes C300 with a 4 cylinder 264 engine. Unknown to us at the time, these motors are highly sensitive to contamination from the oil ports on the block, since they connect indirectly to the main oil journals on the crankshaft. Although this is a known undocumented problem that was shared in a national Mercedes shop foreman meeting in the USA, they are highly susceptible to contamination during the cleaning process and found ourselves with a spun rod bearing 700 miles later. Upon disassembly, we found debris embedded into the bearing surface that was from "cleaning the block surface" with the cylinder head removed. We were left in a tough spot since we could not prove this was a flaw in Mercedes documentation on the process and procedure to care for such a sensitive process. So we opted to take care of our client out of our own pockets since that is the right thing to do. BUT the hard part is whether to purchase a BRAND NEW motor from the dealer or find a reputable rebuilder. This is where Kirk and Bawaria Auto came into the picture. We found his listing on eBay for the 264 Engine rebuilt exchange. Anyone in this business knows, it is very very hard to find a rebuilder worth his weight in salt, since it is a skill that gets harder and harder to meet or exceed the the quality and precision of the factory. Since we saw Kirk specialized in engine rebuilding for BMW M motors, quality and attention to detail is especially needed in those engines. We gave Kirk a try and we were not disappointed. As a person and business where every detail matters, he met and exceeded those expectations. With one word I could tell his quality, SILICONE. The uniform silicone beads, as dumb as that may sound, speaks volumes in the care someone takes to assemble something. I can tell the what type of technician worked on a car previous to us based on that. To sum it up, we have a happy client and for the future we will be using Kirk and his shop the next time for any engine related needs. His has gained our trust and business. Thanks Kirk !!
