Techway Automotive in Enterprise did a superb job replacing the engine and turbo for my 2014 Subaru Forester. My engine had blown while Express Oil & Tire Engineers did a tune up of my vehicle. I didn't trust to have the oil change place do the engine replacement as the engine was blown in their care so instead, I had my vehicle towed to Techway Automotive after a friend had suggested that they could be trusted. Sure enough, Techway Automotive had been friendly, explained every step of the way, and their pricing was very reasonable. In addition, while I was waiting for the repair, they loaned me a vehicle to use in the meantime so I didn't have to pay for a rental. Great job!

Horrifying Lack of Diagnostics, Communication, and Basic Responsibility We took our vehicle to this shop because the alternator was failing and there was a very obvious knocking sound coming from the driver‑side front wheel. Over the phone, we approved their recommendation to replace the alternator, fix a wiring issue, and replace both front end links. They assured us the knocking sound was fixed. It wasn’t. The exact same noise came back within days. When I called to ask what they actually did to diagnose the knocking sound, I learned they had never even sent us the inspection report. After requesting it, I finally received a copy — and what I saw was horrifying. The “inspection” of the front‑end components consisted only of photos. No diagnostic notes. No testing. No verification that critical suspension parts like the ball joints, control arm bushings, or CV axle were actually checked. They simply took pictures and marked everything “good.” Even worse — and this is the part that truly shocked me — the inspection report clearly showed that the transmission dipstick was completely dry upon arrival. Not low. Not discolored. Bone dry. And despite knowing this, they did not add any transmission fluid, did not recommend adding any, and did not even mention it to me. I was unknowingly driving around with zero transmission fluid, while they had documented it and said nothing. That level of negligence is unbelievable. After consulting an automotive AI assistant, I also learned that many mechanics will replace front end links as a default “fix” for knocking sounds without checking anything else — and unfortunately, that seems to be exactly what this shop did. They replaced the easy parts, ignored the actual problem, and failed to perform even the most basic diagnostic work. Between the unresolved knocking, the meaningless “inspection,” the lack of communication, and the fact that they let me drive away with no transmission fluid, I cannot recommend this shop to anyone. This experience was unacceptable on every level.

Just came from there this morning and had 3 different people ignore me at the desk. One was on the phone, understandably, but the other two guys were not and no one said a single word to me. One of the guys was super nice and helpful on the phone when I called about service a couple of days prior so it's a little strange that they are not friendly in person. Oh well. Back to Firestone I go.
