As a woman traveling alone from out of state I was very nervous when my brakes suddenly needed to be replaced while I was visiting Mount Rainier. The other shops I found nearby had weeks long waits and reviews that made an out-of-towner such as myself VERY nervous. I found Dustin along my path and left him a message. He called me back in good time and worked with me to setup a time only a few days out (part of which was the weekend). He also helped me figure out exactly what was needed in the job and kept me regularly updated on estimated cost. During the work he, unprompted, showed me the old brake pads he had removed and compared them to the new ones so I knew what the difference looked like. When asked he also showed me the rotors and walked me through how they worked. He also showed me how to keep my own eye on the brake pad wear in the future and then went and taught me more about my brake fluid and how it fit into the equation as well. When I had some squealing he fit me back in immediately TWICE, working hard to ensure I could continue my travel plans as unchanged as possible. (The squealing was probably my fault and the other issue, while we thought it was related, was probably an animal or rock's fault and he found it and fixed it for me anyway.) He also warned me about the 2% extra charge for cards so that I could pay by check and save myself that little extra bit. If I had been staying in the area longer I would've asked him about my other little issues that I've been too nervous about getting ripped off with to take to other mechanics. Fantastic man, seems very honest with a great work ethic. I repeat: As a woman alone from out of state, I trust this man and felt my vehicle was very safe in his hands. As a senior lady it was comforting to know he made sure I understood everything that was happening and why. He didn't just fix the problem, but he made sure all associated systems were running well.
