Worst mechanic shop ever. I had my transmission rebuilt last year for nearly 7k. Then a year later it failed again and they tried to get out of the warranty by saying I brought it in right after the warranty ended and that it failed because ATF leaked out from the cooler lines and caused it to overheat and self destruct. Immediately I knew this is a lie as I had not a single drop of fluid leaking from this car in the last 3 months of driving. They said they replaced cooler lines for free, but when I got the car back, the factory cooler lines are still on it. End of the day, I paid a second time to get my car back, though after a month of fighting they agreed to about 3800. But even after payment, they didn't have my car ready until I got the police involved. Then suddenly the car magically appeared within 2 hours. I own a full service rental & repair shop for all repairs except transmissions. But looks like I'll have to find myself another transmission shop. Never going back to this one and wouldn't suggest it to anyone. Go to the dealer instead, save yourself money and headache rather then dealing with these bullies!

I just want to share that these folk are as honest and honorable as the day is long during the hottest part of summer. I explained to Kaitlyn (hope I spelled it correctly) what I thought was wrong and what my situation (living on social security) is. They test drove my car, put it on the lift to check the transmission and told me not to worry; it should be fine for the time being. I am highly impressed. I could have been taken advantage of, but Kaitlyn and crew turned out to be a righteous godsend. I am very thankful and hope for them many happy days.

I brought my vehicle to North Seattle Transmissions after spending weeks troubleshooting it myself. I narrowed it down to identifying a problem with the manual gear shift lever; it wouldn't cycle through gears. I needed a second opinion and a professional to look at it to suggest whether to repair this transmission or replace it. I made an appointment on Tuesday since my vehicle didn't run, and I needed to have it towed. I called to ask for advice on a technical question and the front desk told me to bring it in, the initial assessment would be $152. I brought it in the next day and left it with Dennis. I received a call from Dennis the next day and was a little confused to have him start giving me a rundown on the condition of my exhaust and suspension, two things that I did not ask for his opinion on. He then got to the point and explained that he thought it was a bad valve body on the transmission that would likely need to be replaced. When I went to pick up the vehicle, having not authorized the work, he invoiced me for a vague "two to three hours" at 423 dollars that wasn't even listed on the invoice. 2 hours is a very different price than 3 hours, and why wasn't the $152 assessment fee applied to any of this? Dennis did not acknowledge a $152 assessment fee, which he had me sign off on when I delivered the vehicle, or that he spent unnecessary time chasing maintenance which I had not requested. I brought this to the transmission "specialists" for a specific reason: the gear selector on the transmission was not cycling through gears manually. Is this bad, or can you possibly fix it? Instead, they spent two to three ambiguous hours assessing other components of the van. Dennis then told me that he couldn't assess the transmission without driving it, while also giving me a diagnosis that the valve body needed to be replaced. I brought my vehicle here based on the reviews stating that they are a trustworthy, community-centric shop, I had a very, very different experience. Buyer beware if you bring your vehicle here.

North Seattle Transmission deserves nothing less than a 5 star review. They where fast friendly and definitely reliable. They got my truck back on the road running better than ever . Dennis took great care of me and I will definitely be back if I ever need to be . Thank you Dennis.

They rebuilt the transmission in my 2002 e250 camper van and were very highly recommended by the mechanic that I had do the original diagnostic. After my experience, I can see why. They were incredibly communicative and upfront about timing, cost and likely issues they may run into after taking the transmission off. What they quoted was what they charged. Everything was broken down and explained as I needed it to be. I just headed back for a follow up appointment that they scheduled me for and while I normally expect some upselling…there was none. I would trust them with any of my vehicles. I plan on having them change a clutch in another one of my vehicles now because of the service that I received from them. Definitely would recommend
